What do you think is the sexiest word for buttocks?
Please specify your gender and sexual orientation (hetro/homo).

Example:

"bottom" male hetro

UPDATE: I'm doing a kind of survey, so please answer even if someone else has already suggested the word you find the sexiest.

Also, this is a serious question. Please save your witty answers for another thread or, better, for your stories.

Finally, I'm not looking for general advice on how to refer to buttocks. I just like to know if there is one word that most people would regard as the sexiest and, if so, what that word is.

I believe it is bad form to repeat the same word when synonyms exist. I suggest use them all in your writing. Just my slant on it.

When describing tongue kissing I use tongue, muscle, tendril, etc. Although I have recieved complaints from readers that don't mind repitition and prefer the same repeated words.

There is no right and wrong.

Sorry, I put in a witty answer that you wouldn't appreciate before I reread your initial post, hence this edit. But are you sure? Your question just begs for fun!

By the way, I'm not sure what the sexist word for rear is, but I can definately say I prefer ass to arse. A pet peeve I guess, but I stop reading a story when arse is used. I think I miss out on a lot of good British stuff.

Since it is a survey, can I say say 'none'? I use 'ass' in my stories, but I haven't encountered any word for bottom that I actually find sexy.

If 'none' is not acceptable, then I choose 'ass'.

And I'm a female.

Derriere is probably the sexiest word for it, at least to this hetero male......Carney

I agree with AS, you should be flexible with words, you have sooo many choices. I agree with ass as kinda sexy, but I've used "tush" too.

why limit yourself to one word?

I think that what you say about it should be descriptive, and you have to take into consideration who is saying it.
A narrative can use single words like ass, bum, arse, tush, etc. and, to me, none of it is very "sexy". What you say to describe it can be, but the word doesn't make it sexy or unsexy one way or the other. It just lets the reader know what part of the body you are talking about.
A country girl saying something like "That cowboy had him a skoal ring in the back pocket of his jeans, it looked like a target on his denim stretchin' pooper." To me that comes off as sexy, because I imagine it is a little blonde Daisy May type with a wild streak. Her calling it a pooper makes her seem dirty, and dirty works for me.
In a narrative though, to say; "She had a perfectly round pooper, covered in fine hair that glistened under the sun light." I think "pooper" ruins the sexiness of the description because of the obvious reference to "poop".
I'm pretty new to writing here, so maybe I shouldn't be giving advice, but that's how I see it. Male/Hetero BTW

"ass" , female hetero.

You do need some variety but I often wonder about this. Whenever I'm writing and things lead to an anal scene I get a little distressed because ass is the only word I feel right using. Butt sounds a little more juvenile but is sometimes necessary. Arse jolts my brain off sex and onto that part in my fair lady. Derriere is nice but gets awkward when used repeatedly. Pooper, bum, bottom, fanny, tush are automatic turnoffs.
There are things past that, like poop-chute and chocolate factory that really have to be jokes. Are those a turn on for ANYONE?

He cradled the firm cheeks of her ass in his hands and the heat radiated through her entire being. As his sensous fingers explored the exciting cleft between her buttocks she panted loudly. Her tush had always helped her get a guy but this time the JoLo swells had won the jackpot.

The nouns you use are not the most important. Put us there - show us the events.

I think so. If you just read 'ass' for 'arse' and 'panties' for 'knickers' you'll enjoy the story.

It gets a bit more complicated with tush and fanny though.

For me, I love 'bottom'. "he gently tapped his firm hand against the pliant cheeks of her creamy bottom". Sigh!

I agree with elfin...

If I had to choose, I'd say "ass" over the rest, but none jump out as particulary sexy alone. It's all about the surrounding description.

I don't know a word for butt, bottom, ass, glutes, buttocks, keister, loins, behind, hindquarters, heiney, south-end-of-a-sexy-beast-heading-north that I find sexy. None of 'em.

I do find some people's posteriors sexy as all get out. In calling a girlfriend's attention to a nice set of buns, I'm likely to say something like "He does fill out those jeans very nicely" or "I just love the view when he's walking away."
And which episode of NYPD Blue was it where we got to see parts of Jimmy Smits' bare backside? - Oooh, baby!

(...better end this post before I use "sit-upon" or "fundament.")

- Quince, het female (and apparently severely repressed :)

A simple observation

I'm one of those guys who likes the simplicity of the word "butt". Obviously, context is the crucial issue as to whether it ignites my desire, but since you're asking about the noun itself, I vote for "butt"!

Just my observation...and it's something I do love to observe!

I'm surprised no-one's mentioned booty.

Whatever word we use, there's no doubt that the posterior is a sexually arousing part of the anatomy. From a female point of vew, I mentally use different words when I'm looking in the bathroom mirror and critiquing my butt from when a strong male hand is sensually sliding over the globes of my ass.

Isn't it all a matter of circumstances?

While on the subject and since this is the Story Review thread can I shamelessly plug a bit of nonsense I posted a while back about where rude words came from - my cute stumpy thick end

I think the backside is actually one of the more difficult erogenous zones to describe.

Globe, orb, buttocks, ass, booty, butt, posterior, rear, cheeks, moon.

Some of them just don't fit the moment and others are more flexible, but in the end, a longer story could run out of all of them quickly.

Male and Female sex organs each have about a hundred different variations.

Male/ Hetro

I always use the word "asscheeks". That's a big turn on for me and although some people may say it is two words, I never hesitate when pronouncing asscheeks and it sounds like one word to me.

I think the whole thing depends on your mood at the time and tone you are trying to create.
I like ass. Short, to the point, and a bit naughty (if you grew up with my mother, at least!)
"Tush" is good if you're going for a cute, mischeivous tone. I like derriere if it's more romantic, maybe a period piece.
I dislike "bottom." It reminds me of my mother, especially if said very primly and properly (a great mother, just a bit of a prude!)

I have to agree here. There is just something about arse that just turns me off. But then, so do the terms knickers and wanking. I don't mean to be anti-British, but... Just me I guess. And I agree, I tend to stop reading when I encounter these terms and yes, I wager that I do miss some good stories as a result.

As for a suggestion, I like the word "ass" just fine, but am not opposed to the rather tame term "butt".
