I've gotten some great PM's out of the blue. One pops right into mind.

I got a PM one day from a user who had noticed a throw-away line in a post of mine when I mentioned having lunch at a certain restaurant. She responded and we had actually been in the restaurant at the same time! That opened the door to a long lasting casual relationship and friendship in real life. That was the needle in the haystack. Usually the great people I meet on Lit are geographically distant from me, which adds up to a lot of missed opportunities.

I'd agree with Shy here - anytime you get a nice, sincere, genuine PM from someone whose read your posts - that always works for me and touches my heart. Weirdly enough (well, maybe not that weird from a Lit standpoint), the same holds true for the sexy PM's - anything genuine, sincere, nice and on-point with what you've already posted and shown interest in is a good PM.
