The problem with this question (and it's not a bad question, angie) is something that, IMHO too many people just don't get.

Sex is worth nothing. A dollar...a million dollars...just like anything else in the world, it's worth whatever the buyer is willing to part with.

INTIMACY, however has no price. It can't be bought.

Sex has a definition. It's an act. Intimacy speaks to the soul. It has to be given. It has to be shared, or else it's just sex.

You ever give a kid an expensive present and he winds up playing with the box? Buy a guy an expensive shirt and he still wears that ratty swearshirt from college?

The important things have no price.

Madame Pandora said it right. Sex is only worth what each of us is will to give for it. Way back when I was young and dumb I had the opportunity to pay money for sex. It was alight, it relieved the sexual tension but it wasn't very satisfying. I paid for it exactly twice, then went celibate for almost 10 months, quite a feat for a horny 20 year old. Even then i knew there was something missing from purchased sex.
As I grew older I came to realize that I cherished those times after, wrapped in my lovers arms. Spent, sated, nestled close to her warm sweetness. Spending time whispering to each other and just touching.
That's one thing that can't be bought with money, fur coats or jewelry. As Madame Pandora said, INTIMACY; it can be given away, but can never be bought. As I've grown older I've come to appreciate that intimacy, to the point where it's something I crave. There is nothing else like it.

I dunno but seems to me a lotta fems are dodging the question. I didn't ask if sex was any good when you bought or sold it, just whether you ever would buy or sell it? but I'll take it as a "never" for everyone who said "best if freely given". Hmm would I have sex with a woman if she paid me? I honestly don't know. It all depends on who the woman is that's for sure. But if a strange woman comes up to me and says: "I'll pay you $100.00 to fuck me now" I would for certain be flabbergasted, and I would most likely turn her down too.

Would I buy sex from a prositute? No I won't, and yes I have been thinking about it too, but it just doesn't appeal to me. To me the intimacy is far to important.
