Survey time, we all know that the US Dollar and the Euro are worth so much, we hear about it all the time from the locals. But I wonder if the buying power relates as strongly?

So tell me, What country, Province/State/Territory do you live in? What does it cost to buy a gallon (4L) of 91 octane gas? What does 2L (half a gallon) of milk cost?

Canada, BC. Gas $2.93. Milk $2.19.

Well crap! I buy the cheap gas! 87 octane! That is currently $2.59, but changes daily. And milk I buy by the gallon (4L) which is $3.85. I think a 2L is about the same as yours.

And that is in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

West Virginia, USA

Gas $1.34 per gallon
Milk $1.99 gallon

I don't know how much half a gallon of milk is, since I only buy it in the gallon.

I get a box of soymilk for US$.99 and I think gas is going for around $1.48/gallon.

Minimum wage here is $5.15 (again, I think) and I bought a three bedroom house on two lots this summer for $28,000.

I think I need to move!!

Minimum wage: $5.90

A 3 bedroom house totally depends on the area of the city. But in a decent neighbourhood (and nothing too extravagant) is around $120,000

:(

ok, so I'll add minimum wage to that, but the house is very regional and in my experience, can change dramatically depending on which street you're on.

Give me results in your local currency :p

I picked 91, because in some countries that is as low as it goes. :D

A better way to judge, at least to me....

What is minimum wage?

What does a three bedroom house go for?

$28,000????

A three bedroom house here is about $300,000. And if you want one next to the beach, add another $150,000. Then again, I'm moving back to San Diego and housing prices are higher there.

A gallon of gas is $1.73 for 87 octane

A half-gallon of milk is about $2.89, I don't buy a gallon.

I'm currently in Hawaii btw.

Fuel and milk are both around $4.50 a US gallon at the moment

I don't think people in the US realize how little we pay for gas compared to the rest of the world....

Don't stop folks.
  1. Country, Province/State/Territory
  2. Cost (in local currency) of 91 octane gas for 4L or 1 Gal
  3. Cost (in local currency) of a half gal, or 2L of milk
  4. Minimum wage, if applicable

I think the euro and the US dollar are roughly equal at the moment.
I,m paying 78 pence a litre (one and three quarter pints) for diesol.
And 39 pence a pint for milk.

Gas 3.12 pounds sterling/gallon
Milk 1.30

Ontario, Canada

Gas is presently about 65 cents a litre....so $2.60 a gallon I guess.
4L of milk is about $2.99 I think.

3 bedroom house - we're selling my dads, in the country, with a pool, on I think, half an acre, for about $160-170,000. But it's on a highway.

Where are all the Americans? Germans, Kiwis, Aussies? Anyone else?

Min Wage, just passed a bill to raise it to-$7 per hour
rent is about $550-700 for a 2-3 bed apt
Our neighborhood's 3 bedroom homes sell for about $80k-$109k

What's a kiwi? :p
Isn't it a fruit? Brown and fuzzy all over with green flesh and little tiny black seeds...I used to buy them at 10 for a buck.
