The present meaning of the word comes from 1858when CREEPY referred to a physical sensation of one's skin, muscles moving. Its not how I experience fear. That said, Truman Capote wrote some stories that are uncomfortably bizarre, as when one character discovers a freezer filled with dead cats. Or Faulkners A ROSE FOR MISS EMILY, where the old woman sleeps with the corpse.
Aside: My grandfather and Faulkner were sons of Ole Miss faculty, and lived next door to each other around 1910 or so.
That too.Who's Ole Miss?
QUOTE=RobDownSouth : Queerbait is also Hashtag, Darbhinder and Conager.
Quoted.Hi RobDownSouth.
Looks like you and Darbhinder have a lot in common.
And I'm not referring just to the fact that you're one of the two Litsters who keep trolling me with "accusations" that I'm a man.
Incest seems to be another one of your common preoccupations, as in
- Darbhinder's fantasies about indians or pakistani men who rape their mothers,
- and your and Darbhinder's fantasies about posters' children having been rented by their fathers, for nefarious purposes.
I wouldn't be so sure of myself, if I were you.
You have some out-of the box ideas that don't fit with the R versus L political culture of the GB.
And even if you only agravated the "R-wingers" by now,
you'll soon get on the nerves of the Lefties because you don't subscribe to Their worldview either.
And oh boy, once you get on the nerves of the GB enlightened liberals: you'll be trolled with things that are just as charming as sexual fantasies about your buthole or "aunt or mother raping".
Come back to me in one month's time, and then we'll talk.![]()
1.Exactly.
But only a minority of GB lefties are like that. Unfortunately, they're very aggressive and in your face, so one starts to believe that all of them are like that.
I thought that too when I joined. But after getting to know people a bit better I realised that there are actually sane people too among the GB libs, who have more sensible and moderate views. But one doesn't pick up on that because they tend to keep a low profile.
2.I partially agree.
I just can't get past some of the GB political poster's tendency to think in absolute categories: republicans versus democrats, L versus R.
And I can't help noticing that the american political campaign is so focused on this dichotomy as well, and that they don't discuss things that really matter like Wall Street, bankers and so on.
It's what they Never talk about that's even more significant.
Plus interesting that both Trump and Hillary proposed an increase in military spending and so on.
((On a side note: I only started this thread to have a bit of fun at the expense of some of the male GB posters, especially at those who were silly enough to counterattack or so on)).
