Seela, you have made me unbearably hungry! As a matter of fact, my stomach just growled at me in protest that OTHER stomachs are having way more fun today!!! Please stomach, don't revolt  :p

Did you cure the gravlax yourself or buy it? I have never tried curing it, and am not sure if I would trust anything more commercial. I just think it might be too... strong.

(Love the thought of this as a super villain moniker!)

I'm curing it myself! Aren't I fancy? :D

Roast beef, roast potatoes, carrots, peas, parsnips, broccoli, cauliflower, spring cabbage, Yorkshire pudding (with vegetarian cottage pie for the non-meat eater), followed by chocolate cake :)

French toast with a side of bananas and apples this morning.

Currently have a wheat bread in the machine.

It'll get paired with a creamy chicken/veggie soup this eve since hubby's sick.

Oo! Chocolate cake, looks yummy! (^_^)

That sounds great, soup is wonderful when feeling ill. I hope it helps. :)

Gravlax is, in a word - NOM! :)

Thank you for the recipe, Seela! I cured it for 1 1/2 days, which seemed to be about right, juuuust salty enough. In the pic, it's on rye bread with an herbed cream cheese spread.

My SO loved it. I'm waiting to see if he develops super powers! :D

Chocolate cake and gravlax may not sound so great paired up, but they both look so yummy I think I would do it :p

I made a beef stew with every vegetable imaginable. Because I'm yearning for cool weather, and this might help it along.

It looks awesome! I'm so glad it worked out for you. :)

The Aztecs had (I think) Avocados and Cocoa Pods. How does a civilization fueled by the foodstuffs of Nirvana perish?

In Cultural Evolution's aeternal game of scissors paper stone, guns and syphilis trump avocados and cocoa. Every time.

That sucks.

I'm gonna load the Walther, lock the door, put on a condom, and make another batch of guacamole with the other half of that big, plump, ripe avocado.

Smart thinking. You seem to have covered all bases there.

LOL! Better safe with tasty noms than sorry.

I went to lunch yesterday at an Indian food restaurant that specializes in Indian street food. It has great reviews, but I was a little doubtful. I love Indian food, but “street food,” just doesn’t conjure up pictures of fine dining for me. This place was also touted as southern style and I prefer northern.

It was freaking AMAZING! Hands down my new favorite restaurant. The food was not only tasty, but every dish had it’s own distinctive paring of spice and consistency. I hadn’t realized how homogenous most restaurant food is….

I really wish I’d taken a picture. :( But I'll do so next time, which will probably be soon. :D

Hey, Good Lookin', Whatcha Got Cookin'?

Biscuits and gravy at 2:30 in the morning.

Why?

Because it was necessary, that's why. ;)

Every time I read biscuits and gravy, I imagine chocolate chip cookies in a puddle of gravy. Not exactly appealing. :)

That's what you get for learning mostly British English in school and being exposed to mostly American English in real life.

I'm having leftovers of yesterday's roasted horse and parsnip-carrot puree with gravy. Kind of heavy for lunch, but tasty.

Does horse have the same meaning where you are that it does here?

Edit: Oops! Never mind, looked it up. :)
