Today it'll be zander with rosemary from my own little balcony garden. The rosemary, that is. Zander is from the lake not 100 meters away from the said balcony.
Salad with random lettuce leaves, strawberries and mint from my own little balcony garden and chevre.
Bilberries with whipped cream seasoned with a hint of vanilla.

(Thank you Wikipedia for telling me that bilberries are different from blueberries. I've been wondering howcome people in the USA go blueberry picking and then go to some ranch and pick from rather large bushes, but this blueberry-bilberry confusion of mine explains it. I may need to edit all my previous mentions of blueberries now, because it's really bilberries, that I've been praising. All hail bilberries!)

Homemade chicken (all white meat) salad with vidalia onion, black olives and crumbled bacon on a bed of spinach leaves.

Spaghetti puttanesca and tomato salad.

That sounds great! Spicy saucy cravings must be in the air! I made a simple sort of spicy marinara that bubbled in my crock pot all afternoon. I was heavy handed with the chili peppers, as it has a really nice heat to it. I served it over whole wheat pasta with a side salad of cucumber, feta, and strawberries drizzled with a balsamic vinaigrette.

Beef fajitas with sweet onions, jalapenos, and bell peppers. Served with salsa fresca, fresh corn tortillas from the farmers market, and very ripe watermelon. Yay summer!

I think some Chicago deep dish pizza and many, many beers after a full day or removing sodden things from the basement. Pro cleaning crew comes tomorrow to hose the place and, presumably, make it sanitary enough to perform surgery. So they say. ;)

I am going to be making chinese pork chops with mashed potatoes tonight

While occassionally munching on chocolate truffles the rest of the day

Before I left the house I put short ribs in my slow cooker with a cabernet sauce. I can't wait to get home tonight. I think I'm going to make grits or cous cous with them.

Baked BBQ chicken, rosemary & chive couscous, watermelon, and oven roasted asparagus. It smells INCREDIBLE in my kitchen tonight..I can't wait to eat!

Scramble eggs with mushrooms, scallion, tomato, Canadian bacon, ham, and red pepper.

Canneloni stuffed with ricotta, basil & oregano in a tomato sauce with garlic and onion.

I am starting to figure out this cooking lark lol

Last night I made a chilled cucumber-yogurt soup. It was very tasty and refreshing. I also juiced up a whole cantelope with some ginger and a couple carrots. Is very good.

I've had a strange craving for oven roasted rosemary carrots and potatoes for a long time now, but it's summer and that's not summer food.

So bf and I chopped up some bell peppers, zucchini and eggplant and went for a nice and long walk into the forest, lit a bonfire, made some vegetable skewers and roasted them there with some herbs from my balcony garden. It's been a long time since I've had such simple, yet incredibly tasty food. The smoky flavor of the veggies was absolutely divine!

And on our way back to the civilization we stopped for a swim. It was a perfect day and a much needed break from the horrible rally stuff that's invaded the city! :)

It's a spicy night tonight

Steak cooked in a cocoa-cumin dry rub (sounds strange, tastes good!)
and
Sweet/Spicy Brussels Sprouts (tender-cooked, then quickly sauteed in oil with mustard seeds, garlic, crushed red pepper and sugar)
