What's cookin', good lookin'? Part II

I'm working from home today, so I started the morning by making bread dough.

Carrot soup and freshly baked garlic and rosemary bread for lunch today.

For dinner herby chicken and veggies.

I've been also thinking about making Ethiopian food again, so maybe this weekend! If I don't feel like I've been run over by a train.

Made my first nilla and chocolate ice cream.

Making some baked ziti this weekend to prepare for lunches at work as I head back to work this week instead of working from home.

Butter Salomon with a dill and basil baste
Rice pilaf
Salad with roasted walnuts and artichoke hearts.

These both sound really tasty. :)

Today's lunch is asparagus, egg and the leftovers of gravlax I made earlier this week.

For dinner I'm thinking pizza, because I neeeeeeeed pizza. We'll see.

I'm also going to prep some Ethiopian dishes today so that I can make it all a little faster tomorrow. It looks like it's going to be a cold and rainy day, so I might as well spend the day in the kitchen.

I can't eat pizza anymore. 😭
My tummy can't handle the bread. 😭😭😭

Turns out I won't be making pizza, either.

There were gorgeous eggplants in the store, so I'm going to make eggplant rolls with feta, barley, pine nut and basil filling and tomato sauce

*drools*, then goes back to coffee. Slurp.

Flatbread pizza, with a creamy garlic sauce, chicken and roasted broccoli
Peach crown jello shots

Yummy cooking happening again in this thread! I'm making Ethiopian today. It's been a while since I've last made it, so I'm excited! :)

Looks larapin!

Are you using weird words just to mess with me? If so, keep doing it. 😍

(Come to think of it, this weird word thing would be an excellent form of mind games in a D/s relationship. Hmm. That's a good reason to get involved with someone who doesn't have the same first language as I do, for sure!)

I've only heard it in the context of "mom's peach pie is always larapin good!"

I've never heard it used without "good" following it.

My $0.02. :D

Today's plate.

Red teff injera (I used only red teff, hence the dark color), chicken wat, veggie wat, sweet potato and lentil wat, ayib be gomen.

Risotto with shrimp. I'll use mussel broth I made and froze a few months ago. I hope it'll be yum.

I had my usual salad tonight. Romaine, cherry tomatoes, onion slice, blue cheese crumbles, craisins, green olives, sunflower seeds, bacon bits, croutons and lite blue cheese dressing.
I never get tired of this for dinner. I eat it 5 of 7 days.

Lunch was more of the beef vegetable stew I made yesterday. Sadly I only have one more rutabaga for the next stew. Not sure what that protein will be as I'm a little concerned about the meat supply in the US.

*cums*

I made turkey chili.

I haven't had chili in forever! Yum!

I'm trying to keep lunch and dinner under 30 carbs each so the beef stew is almost a freebie at 10 carbs per serving. I've given up potatoes but I found rutabagas!

No, I'm not doing keto. I can lose weight if I can keep the carbs around 125 for the day and my oatmeal for breakfast takes a good chunk of that.

Some days though I say screw it! and have alcohol instead. :cattail:

Lemony chicken and pea puree lunch.

Irish coffee granita with whipped cream for movie snack.

You usually have me hooked in this thread, but pea puree sounds too much like baby food, or something they'll feed me after my last tooth is history.

I've had this conversation here before as well. Either on this thread or the first version of this. Aren't all purees essentially baby food, though? Mashed potatoes etc.

I really like pea puree. It's fresh and vibrant and pairs wonderfully with chicken and fish. Today I made mine with chicken stock, pine nuts, parmesan, thyme and lemon. And of course loads and loads of peas.
