I like to make cocktails and drink interesting craft beers and spirits and enjoy a glass of wine here and there too. I know a lot of other Litsters do too.

This will be a place where you can share interesting drink recipes, your seasonal drink preference, beer or wine. Tell what it is and why you like it. Have an interesting alcohol quote you want to share? that'll fit in just fine. Try something new and report back.

So what are you drinking these days?

Guadalajara Sour

I've been drinking these for the last few weeks, kind of a Mexican/Margarita take on a Tom Collins. It's an excellent summer cooler

1 3/4 ounces blanco tequila

3/4 ounce lemon juice

3/4 ounce simple syrup

3/4 ounce chilled rosé.

Combine the tequila, lemon juice and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker, fill with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a chilled rocks glass over fresh ice. Hold a spoon with its back side facing up on the surface of the drink and slowly pour the rosé over it.

By the way - Simple Syrup is sugar and water. Equal parts (1 cup of each is good) brought to a boil and then cooled. I always keep some on hand in the refrigerator in a maple syrup bottle. It's used in many recipes.

You can also infuse with flavors like mint which comes in handy for mint juleps, but more on that in another post.

abs, as an ohio man I assume you've had great lakes christmas ale..?

Abs-solutely. They'll be serving at the Burning River Fest this weekend on Whiskey Island in Cleveland (Christmas in July thing) - It's so popular that even though it is a seasonal brew, that it accounts for 20% of GLBC's sales.

It's somewhat of a watered down recipe (less spicy) than it used to be - Thirsty Dog's Christmas Ale is closer to, if not an exact copy of GLBC's original recipe.

I guess I'm familiar :D
