Whatcha Eatin'?

I had a 1/4 Pounder from McDonald's today. And some fries.

I thought about it, and if I stopped drinking soda and actually stopped eating fast food, I'd probably loose like 10 pounds in a week.

a man after my own heart. I love hominy, but sadly my boyfriend hates it. What's to hate? it's sweet, starchy corn. He likes grits though, and so do I (this is Tennessee after all!) they're not tasteless if you put in butter, salt and lots of pepper, and hot sauce. Wll Katrina make Tabasco scarce?

Come on, Carson. If you put butter, salt, and lots of pepper and hot sauce on the Space Shuttle, it'll be pretty tasty too.

Grits are the Art Gum Eraser of the culinary world. (Whatever that means.)

Another southern staple I don't understand is Red Eye Gravy. As far as I can tell, it's ham fat and coffee boiled together. Can someone explain that to me?

Or is the old guy who owned that cafe still laughing about selling that Yankee his garbage and watching him eat it? And pay for it too.

All that ceramic armor would also need a little cheese to go with it, methinks.

I've just eaten (after cooking it all from scratch!)

Roast Duck, roast carrots and parsnips with danish style red cabbage, mashed potatoes and plum and peach chutney.

yum.

Anyone want some homemade chutney?I made quite a bit....

No, but you just reminded me that I have some mango pickles in the fridge that are sour and salty enough to make your hair stand on end. Just the thought of them has me salivating. Got to go get one...

Oh come on now, everyone who has worked with or served in the military knows that with enough hot sauce even boots are edible. (And you wonder why I make my own hotsauce?)

Grits, natures answer to Elmers Glue.

Red Eye Gravy, another Broke food. (I still like it and make it upon occasion. I much prefer LumberJack or Sausage Gravy though.)

Hominy? I can think of better things to make with Corn.

Hmmmmm, I can think of a few meals I could make with just some of the ladies here. I would die of Calorie Starvation but I would die happy.

Bacon Cheeseburger Hamberger Helper and a tall, cold glass of whole milk. I'll have a Star Crunch for desert.

About to eat too well, tonight. Do you want the recipe? ;)

OK, so I gave into tha naughty side.

I heated a moonpie up in tha microwave ...

Yummmm :p

Getting ready to eat now. Steak marinated in Garlic Salt, Powdered Onion and a touch of Balsamic Vinegar. (Okay so I'm roughing it. No fresh Garlic or Onions for a little while.) This will be smoke grilled until Medium Rare then eaten with Grilled Corn. (Frozen sorry.) Dinner will be followed by a nice cup of hot coffee laced with Tequila and a nice cigar. Okay so I prepared.

You know it's getting bad when I start eating and enjoying Grilled Spam. (Hot Sauce, lots of Hot Sauce.) (Hot Sauce unless I happen to have an egg to top the grilled Spam with.)

P.S. I absolutely hate Deviled Spam, but last year I ate it and enjoyed it.)
