What Would You Do?

Depends on what they said. I've met famous people before. Not that many, but one or two. I'm disinterested. Of course, if DCL were to show up naked at my house with something to say, I would definately be interested, but outside of that, nah. Fame is what you make of it and most people make too much of it.

What it boils down to... who cares?

Knowing the way I am, I would be unable to mutter a sound.

i get to meet them on a frequent but irregular basis, while working,
on their own they are just normal people, more than two listeners and it becomes a performance

one of my friends where I now live is best friends with Michael McDonald, so when I went to this guys wedding , Michael was the best man. I got to talk with him quite a bit, and he really is a nice guy. Very much into helping our city out if there is ever anything that needs to be done, that the city can't afford to do. The guests at the wedding were even treated to a 2 hour concert with some friends from the area at the reception. The coolest wedding I've ever attended, besides mine. Michael also played a private concert when the other guys father ran for the mayor of our city, for a fund raiser.

I also go to meet Tommy Shaw from Styx, he's also a very nice down to earth guy.

And then there's Nelly, the may not be famous in ten more minutes rapper, who is also from this area. Maybe they just grow then nice in this area, because he wasn't acting the superstar part when I met him.

Cal Ripken was probably the nicest guy I've EVER met, famous or not.

To answer the question though, I'd speak to them, some of them really are down to earth people, not at all assholes, so why not speak to them?

Ashcroft assisted suicide nazi right wing gay hating bastard

damn

The first time I ever met anyone famous was K-Ci and JoJo from Jodeci when I was in high school.

I was SO crushing on K-Ci back then too. We saw them at the mall and when they talked to us, I suddenly forgot how to talk. Very embarassing.

Since then, I've had the opportunity to meet quite a few well known musical artists. Most of them within the past two years and it's not a big deal anymore. They've all been pretty much great people to hang around and chit chat with. And they really like to buy you beers. :D

depends on who it would be..

If it were someone I thought highly of, I would be excited, perhaps.
If it was not no-talented hack bastard, like some rapper.
I'd tell to fuck off
There is enough trash in the world already. Enough sonic pollution.

I know a couple of rappers. They're all intelligent, talented people.

Not really. You just made a pretty ignorant statment.

Have fun romping through the cornfields and picking corn though. Really.

(ooh was that an ignorant generaliation? ;))

I would treat them like anybody else; about the only Hollywierd celeb I have talked to was Perry King. He was at the '49er BMW rally last year and we were both looking at a bike like mine that had some interesting mods. We talked about the mods for about 15 minutes and then he left. I never let on that I knew who he was or that he was a celeb or anything. He shows up at a number bike meets, especially off-road and off-road sidecar stuff.

I have met other smaller political figures (local state senators, national lobbyists, etc.) and talked to them about issues.

Celebs for the most part just want to be treated like everybody else and they are very tired of everybody making a big deal about their presence.

Kurt Cobain lived with us for a week or so..he was an odd cookie.. nice.. but really different and really quiet.. (this was way before Nirvana ofcourse).. and Chris (or it it Kris?) Novasilic's wife dated my ex husband in high school.. met Chris/Kris a few times.. they were just "people" then.. not famous.. that was back in the 80's..

Well, I can tell you'll get along with people here real fine.

As for the original question, I've met a few celebs. Most of the time there is some nervousness on my part, although everytime I've met a Celeb it was with friends, so that helps a little. Was actually at a convention once a few years back where there were a few "guests" that I got to meet. After talking with a couple here and there on that day, it almost seemed normal to be around them. Almost.

depends...

if i met howie mandel, i'd run. rudy guiliani, i'd bitch. ed norton, "You so cool!", melissa ethridge, i'd just die, no really...flatline.
