What would you do if you found a fully functioning "Light Sabre"?

You know - like the Jedi and Sith use?

I like to play "what-if" and one of my favorite what-ifs is what would someone do if they found some kind of technology that was far ahead of current tech? Good candidates for such games are sci-fi tehc such as a "light sabre" or a "phaser".

So what would you do with a "light sabre"?

I'm in the use it for the good of mankind category- I 'd just need time to figure out how secretly. I'm pretty sure I couldn't take it on a plane or discuss it on the internet. Maybe in a roleplaying site.

Sorry, I should have clarified, when I said take out to the trash, I meant crush it into bits, then put it in the trash can, and ask my husband to take the trash out, so I could see the look of pained horror on his face.

I find it kind of intersting that out of 16 people who voted, only one person said they would try return the Light Sabre to its owner.

Yes I know that this is a fanciful "what if" game - but how many people even thought of that choice? How many people instead only thought "cool! I could do this and that!" and returning the sabre didn't even enter their minds?

Maybe so. I think it is because most people's ethics are a bit too flexible. Ask any person if they would return a person's lost wallet they found and you will get a good proportion of people who will answer yes. Ask them if they will return a briefcase with half million in and the percentage drops drastically. Ask them if they would keep something that gives them power that nobody else has, and only one person thinks to return it to the rightful owner. Nobody wants to give up power, not even the person who chose to give it back.
