... about Lit to improve it? (I'm talking constructive suggestions for the site.)

Me? Here's a short list:

  1. On the profile page, Submissions tab, I'd like the H (and E and W) to appear on the LEFT side of the descriptions as opposed to the RIGHT. Makes it easier on the eyes, I think.
  2. I'd like poetry submissions to have description fields, too.
  3. The ratings should appear on the Submissions index page as well.
  4. Under the Favorites tab there should be a display of all those Litizens who've added you (or one of your stories or poems) to their favorites. Share the love, baby!
  5. There should be some way to delineate contest entries on your Submissions index page.
  6. Chain stories should each have a master index page that includes a blurb about how to participate and a link back to the discussion thread.
  7. The "View Submissions" page (where you check your scores & PCs -- not the one readers see), should include a direct link to the stories/poems. Currently, if you spot a problem with the voting (troll attack, etc.) you have to find the link to the story/poem in order to report it in the manner Laurel has instructed. A link to "report problems" on the "View Submissions" page would accomplish the same thing.
  8. A breakdown of the voting should also show on the "View Submissions" page.
  9. Images and audio files for illustrated/audio submissions should be uploadable via the submission form (instead of having to send as an e-mail attachment).
  10. The forums should allow the attachment of small audio and PDF files.
  11. The date of submission, score, number AND type (i.e., fifteen 5s, six 4s, ...) of votes, and whether it's a contest entry, winner, or editor's choice should appear in an "info" box at the top of each story/poem.
  12. I'd like for there to be a way to cross-categorize stories. For example, a primary category plus one or two secondary categories (if needed). It would be especially helpful on New and Top Lists.
    [/list=1]

I know, I know. Nit-fucking-picky. Can't help it. I want Lit to be the best it can be.

I'd like to be able to view my subscribed to threads again.

I'd like to be able to attach files or pics to a PM

I'd like to have a log-in/button on the forums page. (if there is one someone tell me, 'cause I can't find it.)

Ok...um, aren't you logged in when you are on the forums page?

on the home page for forums, you can log in on the bottom of the page...im assuming you dont have your browser set to accept cookies?

On contest entries, I would like the Cat to show on the page wherepeople can read the contest entries from the main page.

OK, here's a simple one:

Am I stupid or... (pause to wait for the chorus to die down)

Is there not a "login" "go to my account" button/link on the Lit home page?

Every time I come back here after a hiatus I spend probably ten minutes searching around for something that says "my account" before I finally remember or see a "login" option at the top of the page titled "stories". (shouldn't this option be directly on most pages?)

Just doesn't seem logical to me, or is there another simpler way that's mislabled (not intuitive), or then again, have I slipped up once more and displayed to you all that I am in fact a total ignoramus...

Nope, there is NOT a login link on the front page.

There is the Login Link on the stories Index page to take you to your author's/Submission page and the login at the bottom right of the main forum index page.

Either of those links will log you into the other as well.

If you set the forums to browse with cookies and autologin then both links are pretty much moot unless you have a cookie problem.

I'd like a link to people's stories from their profile page.

Just a couple of things.

A menu bar on every page, that is the same for every page. I think it would make navigating the site easier.

Also a link to contest stories on the story and picture index page. It took me forever to find the contest stories until I remembered there was a link on the main page.

I'd like to know who has added me to their buddy list (and vice versa)

I'd like a way to STOP all emails -- even from threads I am subscribed to !!

(please)

actually, that's easy. But I forget how I did it...

i like the last one on that list and i'd like to see a ten point scale instead of a five point scale for voting. either that or a break down that allows you to vote seperately on a stories artistic and techincal merit. the ten point scale is my first choive, though.

I'd make it a free site.

Wait, it is a free site. Nevermind.

I'd clean up all those dirty stories and make the site family-friendly, that's what I'd do! There's so little entertainment that we can share with our extended families these days. I bet I'd communicate with Mom a lot more than I do if Lit was free of words like "cocks" and "fuck." The stories wouldn't have to change much; just substitute "private parts" and "sexual congress" for the dirty parts.

Also, there should be a pastry cart and good, strong coffee.

when I log in on the forum section, my cookies don't 'hold'
In otherwords, I repeatedly get told i'm not logged on, and have to relog.

However, when I log in on the story section, they do.

If you mean there *Forum* profile page (which doesn't have one)- I agree!

I'd like to be able to link onto one of my stories from my "view submissions" page when I'm logged on. (would like them to open to a new window)

I don't like the cross category idea.

I see it's advantages, but I prefer the more linear method already in progress.

JMHO.

I'd like a way to find H stories or E stories quickly. In the case of E stories, a simple list would work well. In the case of H, maybe *show only stories with H* on search. (unless we already have that, then my bad)

I would like more work to be done on the Writers.literotica.com website. In fact, this may be my top wish. That section has been teasing me since I got here. As far as I know it's unfinished and basiclly unworkable. the rest of lit is at least workable.

your bad. it already exists. not sure about an E search, but there's an H search.

edited to add: yes, there is an E and a W search as well under special features on the story search page.
