What would happen if you mixed fluids around in your car?

I'm no mechanic, but what would happen if you put anti-freeze in your transmission and transmission fluid in your radiator?

What if you put oil in your radiator and antifreeze in your engine?

What if you put power steering fluid in someone's drink?

Mike, how have you been? Working hard or busy just "being"?

Pays to keep a roll of gaffer tape in the boot also.
Any hose that blows on the road can be patched with lashings of gaffer tape.
Word of advice though... Make sure you tape the hose in situ. It's impossible to bend/manouver it around when you've layered half a roll of gaffer tape around it.
My last repair of a radiator hose lasted 4 months (maintaining the pressure) until I got the radiator and hoses done.

Ahhh! Good one.

I had a hose bust on me, years ago, in a Chevy truck in Tennessee. No cars or houses for miles. It was snowing and about 10 degrees that night. The hose that busted was for cooling the engine. I took the hose for the heating and air and switched it, then capped off the water/anti-freeze flow to the H/A/C. Fortunately, I remembered the engine caps were in the toolbox in the bed.

About an hour later, I was happily checking into a Motel 6. I was so cold, I thawed out in the lobby for a while before going back to the truck to get my personals.

Ironically, that little maneuver that possibly saved my live, was something I had only heard about from mechanics. Amazing the things you can remember in such situations.

I was very drunk and pissed in a convertible once.

Guy should have put up the top, rolled up the windows and locked his new car.

Driver's seat situational t-storm.

Amazing what you can get done when you need.
Good job!

That is what the "Check Engine" light is for.

That one required a combination of prayer, quick thinking and quick handy work. My biggest worry was that the battery would die because I used the headlights to see what I was doing while the truck was not running.;)

The time myself and a partner poured beer and pee into a radiator was a situation of the only no brainer option available.

Here in Oz, if you're going to drive anywhere out in the country, it pays to have a 20l can of water in the car at all times.
In a few places, there simply is no water, and there are signs in the roadhouses that say 'Please do not ask for water, as refusal may offend.' These places have to truck in all their water.

You evidently live in a very dry climate.

Appears like the only wildlife around are either Kangaroos or Camels.

Gumball rally?

Haha, no.
I travel from Tasmania to Perth to visit family and friends.
It's nice to get out on the road for a few days, plus it helps to have my car when I get there.
So I do the Nullabor both ways.
Total round trip is just on 8000km.

What would happen if you put fluids in the wrong components of a car?

Antifreeze in the transmission, oil in the radiator, transmission fluid in the engine.

Your transmission would never freeze, your oil would be wasted and your "check oil" light would turn on.

Someone said that you might be able to run for about a minute or two before your engine starts smoking and seizes up.
