This is kind of a spin-off from Sarah's Where did you sit thread.

When you were at school....

How was your behaviour?

Were you a member of any team or choir or orchestra?

Did you cut class?

Did the teachers like you?

Were you popular with fellow students?

What kind of crowd did you hang out with?

Did you snitch on people?

Favourite subject?

Worst subject?

Any accolades, such as team captain, head boy, head girl?

What kind of things did you do that you shouldn't have?

At that age, what kind of person did you think you'd turn out to be?

Did you turn out to be that person?

If you could go back and do it all again, would you?

Kids: just say no, or alternatively (and more enjoyably) follow the directions below:

How was your behaviour?

Very good, when I turned up.

Were you a member of any team or choir or orchestra?

Two sports teams, plus debating.

Did you cut class?

Only when I hadn't taken the whole day off.

Did the teachers like you?

Almost all of them.

Were you popular with fellow students?

Yes, although mostly for being amusing.

What kind of crowd did you hang out with?

The hip, "high school sucks but I gotta do it or I won't go to college" crowd, but I dated artsy proto-goths almost exclusively.

Did you snitch on people?

Never once.

Favourite subject?

English (that's got to be one of the usual suspects on this board).

Worst subject?

Biology.

Any accolades, such as team captain, head boy, head girl?

Yes, but too modest to name (indeed, list).

What kind of things did you do that you shouldn't have?

Many, many drugs; excessive alcohol; underage girls (although I was, too); racing motorcycles on public highways; the odd bar brawl (but nothing serious, officer!)

At that age, what kind of person did you think you'd turn out to be?

The Art History professor conducting several simultaneous student affairs, or possibly the white Viv Richards.

Did you turn out to be that person?

Can't hit spin, so no...

If you could go back and do it all again, would you?

Not even if every cheerleader there got down on her knees...

How was your behaviour?
In elementary I was a bully. But in gr 6-10 I was a good kid. 11-12 I became a smartass, but still was good.

Were you a member of any team or choir or orchestra?
Curling, Choir, Newspaper, Yearbook, Drama Club

Did you cut class?
To work for my parents. *sigh*

Did the teachers like you?
Yep. Even after I became a smartass.

Were you popular with fellow students?
When I was a bully, yes. Afterwards, I was on the outskirts.

What kind of crowd did you hang out with?
Freaks and Geeks.

Did you snitch on people?
Never.

Favourite subject?
Art and CALM (Career and Life Management)

Worst subject?
Physics

Any accolades, such as team captain, head boy, head girl?
Started the school paper. Got bronze in the provincial soap box derby race. Yep...

What kind of things did you do that you shouldn't have?
Made out with girls before it was cool. Cheated on tests. Gave friends my homework to copy. One year we did stupid pranks, like putting vaseline on locks. Stole all the star wars books from the school library.

At that age, what kind of person did you think you'd turn out to be?
I thought I'd disappear and amount to nothing.

Did you turn out to be that person?
Hell no. I'm having a blast.

If you could go back and do it all again, would you?
If I had my current knowledge, yes. But to just relive it again, no fucking way.

How was your behaviour?
Mixed. Everyone assumed I was good because I was the deputy head's daughter... which made me go out of my way not to be good. I just never got caught.

Were you a member of any team or choir or orchestra?
Yes, school choir, a few orchestras and chamber groups, tennis, hockey, netball, debating, soccer, softball. I kept busy.

Did you cut class?
Yes. There were certain subjects I didn't like, so I didn't go to them. I always had 'music rehearsals' to attend. In all fairness, I did play the piano when I was cutting class, but it was always for my own enjoyment.

Did the teachers like you?
I think so. I was always polite to them. A few I got on with like a house on fire. Ironically, the only lesbian teacher in my school. I found out about her years later and suddenly worked out why we clicked so well.

Were you popular with fellow students?
I was never in the in-crowd, but I got on ok with everyone and was always invited to the in-crowd parties.

What kind of crowd did you hang out with?
The artsy crowd - literally musicians and artists.

Did you snitch on people?
No.

Favourite subject?
English - strangely enough... and languages.

Worst subject?
Maths, PE (whenever we had to do gym, dance or aerobics), Technology (because all the wood and metalwork bullshit dried my hands out, Needlework (because I couldn't sew and kept breaking the fucking machines).

Any accolades, such as team captain, head boy, head girl?
Yes. Regional accolades in tennis and debating. National in terms of musical stuff.

What kind of things did you do that you shouldn't have?
Get drunk one lunchtime when I was 14 - I stole alcohol from my parents' drinks cabinet  Smoke behind the bikesheds, rugby tackle a girl twice my size because I was fed up of her bullying me, go awol on school trips... That's about it.

At that age, what kind of person did you think you'd turn out to be?
University lecturer. I imagined immersing myself in a world of knowledge and being all serious and learned.

Did you turn out to be that person?
Ummm.... no. I had a taste of it for a year when I was doing a research degree. It felt like I was missing out on the rest of life. Plus I turned into a goodtime girl, which didn't help with the self-discipline.

If you could go back and do it all again, would you?
No. The entrapment of being at school, having to follow rules and adapt to a set timetable would have me banging my head against the wall these days.

How was your behaviour?
Depended, most of the time very sweet and helpful. In elementary school though if they pushed me by making fun of me or my friends i'd make sure they'd hit me first so i could beat them to the ground and not get in trouble for it. Later I was better behaved but was a lot naughtier than most knew.

Were you a member of any team or choir or orchestra?
I was in 4H, choir, pep club, played volleyball, basketball and ran track. In high school I also joined spanish club and FFA and the debate team.

Did you cut class?
Every now and again

Did the teachers like you?
For the most part I guess, my basketball coach was a pain in the ass though so we often clashed in the class he taught.

Were you popular with fellow students?
I didnt think so but I've since been told I was *shrugs* (The art of not giving a shit I guess)

What kind of crowd did you hang out with?
Everyone to some extent, flitted in and out of the different groups. I was more comfortable with the bad people though since they as well didnt give a shit. ;)

Did you snitch on people?
No...

Favourite subject?
Shop class and literature.

Worst subject?
Geometry

Any accolades, such as team captain, head boy, head girl?
To many to list...can we say over achiever

What kind of things did you do that you shouldn't have?
raided boys lockerroom and put icy hot in their jockstraps with the rest of my team, toilet papered the principles house, put a banana in the tail pipe of an assholes truck, water raids on senior skip day (that was such a blast :D :D ) and some that wont be mentioned.

At that age, what kind of person did you think you'd turn out to be?
I just hoped I would turn out to be an ok person that had a good job, their own place and a few friends to hang out with. I expected nothing else, not a SO other or children or anything.

Did you turn out to be that person?
I turned out so much better than that person.

If you could go back and do it all again, would you?
:D Hell no I'm not insane...well ok maybe senior skip day water raids that would be fun to do over again ;) I know exactly whos t-shirts to make wet this time

When you were at school....

How was your behaviour?
Only a select few knew how well I misbehaved. To the vast majority, I was a model student.

Were you a member of any team or choir or orchestra?
Varsity track, basketball, and softball all four years of high school. Choir, madrigal choir, and elite quartet.

Did you cut class?
Nope. High school was too far away from anything to make that feasible (and I rode the bus).

Did the teachers like you?
Very much so.

Were you popular with fellow students?
Yes, even those I didn't know. (I was a organizer-crusader even then.)

What kind of crowd did you hang out with?
I was on the fringes of several. Hung with the choir/band folks sometimes, but didn't really "belong" because I also hung with the jocks. Didn't really "belong" there, either, because those choir/band folks were geeky-weird. Hung with the brainiacs, but I could not be trusted because I also hung with the uber-popular folks who, they all knew, were just petty-pretty people. I was a mutt.

Did you snitch on people?
I was a black hole for secrets.

Favourite subject?
Calculus

Worst subject?
Don't think I had one. I got a B+ in one high school course, and it was a subjective score. The rest were As.

Any accolades, such as team captain, head boy, head girl?
Dunno what "head girl" means, but it certainly sounds like a title that would apply to me.

Gawd, I'm not even gonna list these. Y'all just don't wanna know how perfect I was in high school. :p

What kind of things did you do that you shouldn't have?
Sex, drugs, alcohol. The usual.

At that age, what kind of person did you think you'd turn out to be?
I have never thought in those terms. Still don't.

Did you turn out to be that person?
N/A

If you could go back and do it all again, would you?
Hell, no.

When you were at school....

How was your behaviour?

Generally reasonable but a quiet rebel.

Were you a member of any team or choir or orchestra?

Lockforward in Rugby team, number five in Third (rowing) eight, Latin Club, tea-chest bass player in skiffle group...

Did you cut class?

Yes. PhysEd after 16. I had and have mild coordination problems. On return to my UK school I just didn't go to the compulsory PhysEd class for the whole year. I was awarded a B. Years later I confessed to the Phys Ed teacher that I hadn't been to any of the classes. He replied "That's why you got a B. If you had been good enough for me to notice you would have got an A. If you were bad enough for me to notice you would have got a D or lower. As I couldn't remember you, you must have been competent but not outstanding - therefore the B".

Did the teachers like you?

Some did. Some found me too much of a smart-arse.

Were you popular with fellow students?

Tolerated, not popular.

What kind of crowd did you hang out with?

My own. I was never "in" but rarely "out".

Did you snitch on people?

No.

Favourite subject?

Geography

Worst subject?

Art - lack of physical coordination meant that I couldn't produce on paper or canvas, or in ceramics, the image I had in my head.

Any accolades, such as team captain, head boy, head girl?

Queen's (=Eagle) Scout and troop leader, Rugby pack leader.

What kind of things did you do that you shouldn't have?

Jacked up a teacher's car on blocks so that he couldn't move it; painted school doorknobs with contact explosive; climbed school flagpole to replace school flag with knickers (panties) donated by friend from neighbouring girls' school (She reciprocated with a pair of boxers on their flagpole but didn't have to climb to hoist them).

At that age, what kind of person did you think you'd turn out to be?

I plead the fifth.

Did you turn out to be that person?

See above.

If you could go back and do it all again, would you?

If I knew then what I know now, I'd do some things differently and I'd challenge some of the decisions made for me by parents and teachers. They thought they were right, and given what they knew, decided as best they could. With hindsight, some choices were wrong.

Og

My behaviour was that of a small prey animal, because that's what I was.

What kind of things did you do that you shouldn't have?

Slept in class a lot.

At that age, what kind of person did you think you'd turn out to be?

I believed what every one else told me. And they told me I was never going to be anything.

Did you turn out to be that person?

Pretty much.

If you could go back and do it all again, would you?

Not for all the money in the world.

I was studious, brooding, and dreamy. My teachers liked me (esp. art and English teachers). Students liked me too, but for different reasons than the teachers.

How was your behaviour?
I was the teacher's pet. I bragged about being a teacher's pet. I did all my homework, I sat quietly, I read my books. I got special privledges and I chastised people for not doing what the teacher said. I also tutors algebra for the hell of it.

Were you a member of any team or choir or orchestra?

FBLA & FFA

Did you cut class?

not intentionally

Did the teachers like you?

two words: teacher's pet

Were you popular with fellow students?

I... was voted "moist likely to be seen on America's most wanted" by write in vote...

What kind of things did you do that you shouldn't have?

I was mean to people.

At that age, what kind of person did you think you'd turn out to be?

I didn't really think about it.

Did you turn out to be that person?

Well I thought I would be smarter than I am, so no.

If you could go back and do it all again, would you?
Yeah, if just to be nice to Tony this time around : /
(I realized too late that he was actually my friend)

Did you snitch on people?

Favourite subject?

Lots of them.

What kind of things did you do that you shouldn't have?
Not many. I'm a good girl. ;)

At that age, what kind of person did you think you'd turn out to be?
A Doctor.

Did you turn out to be that person?
Still working for it.

If you could go back and do it all again, would you?
By all means.

How was your behavior?

I was generally well-behaved, except when almost guaranteed not to get caught.

Were you a member of any team or choir or orchestra?

No, immediately after school I had to go to work at a business my parents owned, until I became old enough to find a job that actually paid money. I was a member of a lot of clubs, though. We were allowed to hold club meetings once a month during the school day, and they were fun ways to chat with friends.

Did you cut class?

Frequently, especially my last two years of high school. At my high school, I was a CPS, (co-operative professional student I think is what it stands for), and it was mostly a teacher's aide kind of thing. Running copies, grading papers, etc. Each teacher was allowed to have one student per year. I was the CPS for the accounting teacher. Frequently, I was given her car keys, a grocery list, and a handful of cash. Also, my friends and I ditched frequently just to go have lunch.

Did the teachers like you?
Yes, very much. It was (and is) a small town, very rural, and since my parents were business owners, they knew most of my teachers on a personal level.

Were you popular with the fellow students?

I was "in" with my own crowd, and on the fringes of the real "in" crowd. I got along well with everyone, just better with some.

What kind of crowd did you hang out with?

I guess mostly those who were most like me. It was almost like those of us who didn't really fit in anywhere else formed our own clique. Seeing how we all turned out as adults is funny. We were and are an eclectic bunch. I kept close with my friends from elementary school, too.

Did you snitch on people?
Absolutely not! I graded their accounting balance sheets!

Favorite subject?

Biology and English

Worst subject?
Gym :D

Any accolades, such as team captain, head boy, or head girl?
Nope, not a one.

What kinds of things did you do that you shouldn't have?
I probably should have stayed in class a little more, and actually devoted some time to studying. Grades always came easily to me, and required very little effort.

At that age, what kind of person did you think you'd turn out to be?

I honestly can't remember.

Did you turn out to be that person?
see above.

If you could go back and do it all again, would you?Has hell frozen over?

"School" is such a long period of time. When are we talking about? I'd have totally different answers for high school and the years before that.

How was your behaviour?
I was the quiet guy, lost in my own world.

Were you a member of any team or choir or orchestra?
Football.

Did you cut class?
Yes, but not too much.

Did the teachers like you?
No. Even though I never did any mischief I was always the one blamed.

Were you popular with fellow students?
Sort of...

What kind of crowd did you hang out with?
just a few very good friends.

Did you snitch on people?
No

Favourite subject?
Biology.

Worst subject?

None.

Any accolades, such as team captain, head boy, head girl?
Team captain.

What kind of things did you do that you shouldn't have?
None... except cut class.

At that age, what kind of person did you think you'd turn out to be?
A Doctor

Did you turn out to be that person?
Nope... Lost my seat for a couple of marks.

If you could go back and do it all again, would you?
Definitely.

Liar said:
"School" is such a long period of time. When are we talking about? I'd have totally different answers for high school and the years before that.

I gave mine according to my behavior in High school.

How was your behaviour?

Usually good, odd time getting into trouble

Were you a member of any team or choir or orchestra?

Yes, Floor Hockey, Choir, Orchestra (cello) , Band (clarinet)

Did you cut class?

Not until late highschool Grade 11 I think was the first

Did the teachers like you?

I think so, I was one of those never really noticed kids

Were you popular with fellow students?

Not popular, but I hung out with the not so popular, popular and the gay guy! He was my best friend for a couple years!

What kind of crowd did you hang out with?

Oops! Read above

Did you snitch on people?

Never, I took matters into my own hands

Favourite subject?

Woodworking, and Geography

Worst subject?

Math, still is!

Any accolades, such as team captain, head boy, head girl?

LMAO- NO

What kind of things did you do that you shouldn't have?

Knocked a girls tooth out, lit a match in my desk in grade 3, and taking matters into my own hands too often!

At that age, what kind of person did you think you'd turn out to be?

Hmm Still dont know, maybe in my twenties

Did you turn out to be that person?

Working on it

If you could go back and do it all again, would you?

I think I would so long as it was back in the day, not now, way too much going on in schools now.

When you were at school....

How was your behaviour?

I was very well behaved. I tried to show up to every class on time, I showed respect for my teachers (even the ones I didn't respect at all), I listened when they were saying something worth listening to, and I did class work as assigned.

I never did homework though. I really didn't see the need. I learned everything assigned without doing to followup busy work that they gave to us for practice at home. My teachers and student advisors found this disconcerting, but for me there was no need to waste my time on such nonsense.

You would think the fact that I nearly aced all of my tests would have proven that me doing homework was pointless, but nope, sigh...

Were you a member of any team or choir or orchestra?

I was on the fencing team in high school. Four years, never won any of my matches :D

Did you cut class?

Never. I would skip school with my mother's full permission though. She knew that everyone needs a day off from time to time, and if we wanted to sleep in late a few times a year (we were allowed up to 20 sick days a year, five pers semester, without failing), that was fine by her.

It's not like I ever got into trouble anyway.

Did the teachers like you?

somewhat. Aside from my total failure to do homework.

Were you popular with fellow students?

Hell no. Most of them look at me with either hatred or fear. I wasn't physically imposing, they were just afraid of me because I was different. A 6'-4" tall, 140 pound man with hair down to his ass and didn't dress in T-shirts was freakish to them, and they didn't know how to deal with it.

I didn't have any friends. I never hung out with anyone after school. My afternoons and summers were spent watching TV or sketching up action scenes with pen and paper.

What kind of crowd did you hang out with?

I didn't.

Did you snitch on people?

Nope. Didn't really care.

Favourite subject?

Computer drafting. It lead to my current career. But aside from that, the computers had some pretty fun games installed on them :D

Worst subject?

English. I'm still not very grammatical, and can't spell a good deal of words for shit.

Any accolades, such as team captain, head boy, head girl?

Nope.

What kind of things did you do that you shouldn't have?

I was a true individual. Worst possible thing for a developing teen.

At that age, what kind of person did you think you'd turn out to be?

I always saw myself as being more physically intimidating. Stronger, faster, more agile.

Did you turn out to be that person?

Not really. I'm bigger and stronger, but not nearly to the degree that I tried to be.

If you could go back and do it all again, would you?

I would love to be able to, but one of my fears is that it would all turn out the same in the end.

Let's just say that I was on the Who's Who page as the guy that would never live to see twenty one.....

Fooled them didn't I...... :D

This is kind of a spin-off from Sarah's Where did you sit thread.

At that age, what kind of person did you think you'd turn out to be?I always knew I'd be where I am now... a mom, wife... I'm 34 and I'm still figuring out who I am.

Did you turn out to be that person?I did... but I'm changing... a never ending palette of colors is what I am.

If you could go back and do it all again, would you?No.

In school...

How was your behaviour?I was considered to be an outsider. Frankly I was a bitch to most people because they didn't understand me. I met my best friend by telling her to fuck off.
Were you a member of any team or choir or orchestra?Tried out for choir but they had too many soprano's as it was.

Did you cut class? My strict mother would beat my ass if I was tardy for school, then she would make me walk the whole five miles to get there.

Did the teachers like you? For the most part.

Were you popular with fellow students? No, I was shunned for the most part.

What kind of crowd did you hang out with? Crowd? What crowd? Hey, where'd everybody go.
Did you snitch on people? No, but i saw a lot of shit happen. It comes with being an outsider, nobody realizes or cares that you're there.

Favourite subject? Language Art, History, and Computer Science.

Worst subject? Mathology.

Any accolades, such as team captain, head boy, head girl? Are you kidding me? Why the fuc would i want to participate in a popularity contest?

What kind of things did you do that you shouldn't have? Hmm... my junior year of high school my mother grounded me for no reason and I told her to fuck off and I was going to the prom. and i left and went to the prom.
At that age, what kind of person did you think you'd turn out to be? Somewhere far away enough from my mother so that i would have some kind of life.. Now I live two states away from her and i miss her muchly.
Did you turn out to be that person? No, you can never get away from your mother. Now I ask myself why would I want to. Oh the memories stop me in my tracks from moving back closer to home.

If you could go back and do it all again, would you? No. My childhood (or lack thereof) made me who I am today, and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

How was your behaviour?
I required a beating about once each week.

Were you a member of any team or choir or orchestra?
I was an athlete. Track team.

Did you cut class?
No.

Did the teachers like you?
Half did.

Were you popular with fellow students?
Yes.

What kind of crowd did you hang out with?
The real iconoclasts and intellectuals.

Did you snitch on people?
Never

Favourite subject?
Drawing.

Worst subject?
Chemistry

Any accolades, such as team captain, head boy, head girl?
No. Everyone pretty much expected me to be a failure and ner-do-well.

What kind of things did you do that you shouldn't have?
Sex with married women.

At that age, what kind of person did you think you'd turn out to be?
I believed I'd get a Nobel Prize for literature. I still believe it.

Did you turn out to be that person?
The jury is still out. But if they include porn, I have a good shot at it.

If you could go back and do it all again, would you?
No.

How was your behaviour? I was always a good, innocent and serious (as in I always thought twice before answering questions and answered them to the point) girl in front of my teachers; and a bouncy, crazy, devilish one in front of my friends.

Were you a member of any team or choir or orchestra? Yes, nerd team. And I was in drama until 8th grade.

Did you cut class? Hell yes. And ironically enough, the only classes I ever skipped were science-related, especially chemistry. The reason was because I was the captain of the science team, a bunch of us got recruited to attend national competitions and when chem class rolled around, I told the teacher that my team had to meet to discuss our strategy. Then we gathered and played cards in another classroom. One time we heard someone walked by and we had to throw all the cards out the window because there wasn't enough time to...erm...hide the evidence.

Did the teachers like you? They loved me. :D

Were you popular with fellow students? My friends knew me. *shrugs* The 'popular' kids knew me and invited me to their parties sometimes, but I almost never went.

What kind of crowd did you hang out with? Nerds. Actually, I hung out with my best friends, who varied from super nerds to lead singer of a band to daughter of the principal.

Did you snitch on people? No. I tended to cover for them and I got in a fairly bad argument with my math teacher once over that, too.

Favourite subject? Bio, chem, physics, literature.

Worst subject? PE, it was unfair to make me high-jump or long-jump against the other big kids; I was too tiny. Art, I can't draw to save my life. I can sketch diagrams, though. Needlework, I always asked my mom to do my homework in that class for me.

Any accolades, such as team captain, head boy, head girl? Captain of the science team, second place in Southern Vietnam's Chemistry Competition, second highest GPA in Ho Chi Minh, graduated from high school with Honors. :cathappy:

What kind of things did you do that you shouldn't have? Developing a huge crush on my best friend's ex. Took me years to get over him.

At that age, what kind of person did you think you'd turn out to be? An astronaut...some sort of explorer who goes to other planets and encounters alien species. :catroar:

Did you turn out to be that person? Not right now.

If you could go back and do it all again, would you? No, thanks. I can't even wait to finish university.

Smart and a smart-ass.

Yes. Most definitely. Especially senior year.

Did the teachers like you?

Mostly.

What kind of crowd did you hang out with?

Jocks, freaks, heads, musical folks.

Did you snitch on people?

No - 'd be snitching on myself.

English. PE.

Worst subject?

Sciences.

Any accolades, such as team captain, head boy, head girl?

Class VP. Voted most likely to get up and dance at the senior prom.

What kind of things did you do that you shouldn't have?

I had a habit of sneaking into the school at night and jumping out of 2nd story windows into snow banks.

At that age, what kind of person did you think you'd turn out to be?

I'm still not the person I think I'll turn out to be.

Did you turn out to be that person?

I'm better.

If you could go back and do it all again, would you?

In some ways, yes. But for the most part, no.

How was your behaviour?
HS: I was a loner and a nerd, but a good kid who never got into trouble.
College: Definitely came out of my shell some, but still never got into trouble.

Were you a member of any team or choir or orchestra?
HS: I played in Marching Band, and the top Jazz and Wind Ensembles.
College: I basically played in any and every group I could. Not choir though

Did you cut class?
HS: Never
College: Every other day

Did the teachers like you?
I think so.

Were you popular with fellow students?
lol

What kind of crowd did you hang out with?
I wouldn't call them a crowd, but I hung out with my fellow band geeks. The cools ones though, not the stuck up snobby ones.

Did you snitch on people?
Never, although I was tempted at times.

Favourite subject?
Music and Math

Worst subject?
History

Any accolades, such as team captain, head boy, head girl?
HS: I was the guy in charge of the entire low brass section in Marching Band (Trombones, Baritones and Tubas), as well as the eventual section leader in Jazz and Wind Ensemble.
College: I was lead chair at LMC, and have played first parts at other schools as well. In 2003 I won every major award my school had to offer in music, including both memorial scholarships (A feat done only two other times) and the concerto contest that year in which students worked up a solo and performed for judges. The winner would then play their solo with the band.

What kind of things did you do that you shouldn't have?
I don't think I did anything bad in high school. Honest!

At that age, what kind of person did you think you'd turn out to be?
I didn't think about the future back then. I just assumed I'd go to college and would live in a house and start a family.

Did you turn out to be that person?
Too early to tell. :p

If you could go back and do it all again, would you?
Hell no.
