What was Your Favorite Lunchbox

Rather than derailing the Tell me your age thread, little trip down memory (fading for some of us) lane. What lunchboxes did you have as a kid? I remember it being a big deal, especially at the start of school and the new Sat morning cartoons were all the rage....

I never carried one to school nor did my kids. But I’m a fan of them for putting match box cars in , or saving greeting cards in , that sorta stuff. I also like to admire them and reminisce when I see them out and about antiquing.


The cartoon themed ones are my favorites.

Mom bought those ugly Tupperware lunchboxes and mine was brown. Damn things are still in great condition. I would have sold my sister for a Lisa Frank lunchbox.

Ha!!! IDK if they still sell the brown Tupperware lunchbox but I remember them and even used to have one. Too small for much more than a sandwich and a bag of chips though. And yes, ended up in the pantry before it finally disappeared during a move.

I can't find my lunchbox of yesteryear, but that's partly because we were mostly a brown-bag family, so I don't even remember well.

I begged to take paper bags instead of the Tupperware

If I took a lunch to school it was in a paper bag. I got the indestructible plastic box of horror later and quickly found that a small cooler was superior.

Mine refused to buy us lunchboxes when we had perfectly good paper bags.

Although really, after a few experiences of thermoses that some kid or another forgot to clean out, I think she just didn't want to deal with it all.

I can smell that stale lunchbox smell now...

I don't remember my first lunchbox...probably will have to pull out the photo album and look at the first day of school pics. But I do remember getting a Scooby-Doo one around Grade 2. By the time I was in Grade 5, I had made the transition to paper bags...but I also ate a lot of free school meals
