fun lovin' criminals... 2001

they started with the old heavy rock stuff, then moved into the cool puerto rican chill out stuff.... i had just enough space to dance properly...

that or Stereophonics, 1999

sun setting over the trees, great music, great friends, great moonshine.

1996 - Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom

Halo, sweet 16 then, was shopping her ass off in Covent Garden (it was Tuesday in April). She listened to some street bands when some guys who looked suspiciously like Bono, The Edge and Larry Mullen Jnr appeared and listened to the band too. The crowd then urged them to take up the instruments and U2 (minus Adam Clayton) played for about 20min on Bongos and a guitar. It was just amazing.
The funny thing was that quite a few people said "Oh my god, this guy sounds just like Bono" but didnt realize it was actually them. :) This was by far the best concert I have ever been to.

The others would be Pink Floyd and the Stones, as well as an "official" U2 concert.

Halo :rose:

My list is simple.

Locobazooka 1999, Locobazooka 2000, and Locobazooka 2001. It's a cheep show, and for like $30 you get to see 45+ bands ^_^

Bad Religion- this was on Saturday. I was a tt he front of the pit, against the rail, as close as you could possibly get. I could almost touch Jay Bentley. He later gave me his setlist. I brusied my hip and shot my ears, and killed my voice yelling. It was awesome.

Oh and the opener for them- Jess than Jake- They were alright, pretty fun, they played the song of theirs I liked, so that was cool.
The other openers were the covers from Ausin, who were ok. Then some other people.

BAd Religion was awesome tho'. A ton of fun!

Too Many to Choose From

Spent a LOT of my growing up attending concerts, and I really cannot pick favorites since a lot of them touched me and are memorable for many different reasons (sometimes even the venue). Plus I was fortunate to see many artists many times.

I guess the most "special" was actually a "quiet" concert held at the Felt Forum (formerly in Madison Square Garden; less than half the size as the current Theatre there now).

Saw the Doors! It was a small venue, and we had 10th row seats on the side. We attended the first show (started 7:30pm; cannot remember the opening act now!); finished almost midnight (there was a mob outside waiting to get in for their 11PM show!). It was fabulous.:rose:

The rest of my memories lie with multiple viewings of:
Elton John;
Genesis;
James Taylor;
The Moody Blues;
Gordon Lightfoot;
Peter Gabriel;
Billy Joel;
Tom Jones;
Chuck Magione.

Those were the days!:cool:

Hmm, I have a tie.

I was lucky enough to go see Smashing Pumpkin's last concert in Chicago which was incredible and I saw Circle Jerks w/ Mest a few weeks ago and they were great.

And I hear Green Day is coming with crappy Blink 182 in like May but Saves the Day is opening for them so I'm looking forward to that.

Yeah,from what I've heard is that they don't even play their own instruments and hit andm notes in concert, along with crappy vocals.

i don't go to a lot of big venue concerts though i have seen a few..got so loaded before a jimmy buffet (sp?) concert once that i didn't see much of anything...anyway, for shear entertainment value a lyle lovette concert is the best thing going for my money...but my all time favorite was a small benefit concert by willie nelson...played for two hours, 45 minutes without a break and had leroy parnell open for him...fantastic

Best concert: Kansas opened for Lynyrd Skynyrd a few years back. Both bands were fantastic and really drew the crowd in.

Best Show: Ligts, music , enthusiastic crowd etc Pink Floyd in Toronto about seven years ago.

My first concert was when I was 12. The Irish Rovers played in my home town! :D

Since then, I have been hooked on concerts.

Yeah, I mean I'm all for pop-punk if that's what floats your boat but I can't stand these guys and I was forced to go see them like two years ago because Fenix Tx and Bad Religion were opening for them (Bad Religion opening for Blink, what has this world come too?), they really suck in concert.

I've seen The Beatles and I've seen Bob Marley to name only two from a lifetime watching gigs and engineering gigs, but the most spectacularly memorable concert ever was Prince, at Man City's football ground.
Cheers

Best concert would have to be MatchBox20 when they played in Austin, Texas.

A friend and I simply got tickets and decided to go at the very last minute. We did not realize where our tickets were till we were seated in front row. It was a small venue and it was probably one of the most amazing shows ever... Rob Thomas talked about the music , how the songs came to be written and so forth .. it was an amazing night. :)

2nd runner up would have to be Mana. :)

My fav show was Dave Matthews Band last August (will go see them again in April)..... simply amazing!!!!! everyone was dancing, singing, moving to the sound of this wonderful band.

Could have add Pink floyd, Yes, U2, Rush and so on...

Déjà

Ok, that was at a troubling time in BR history. They were Brett-less, bobby's arm was acting up, they didn't want to do as many songs.. plus they don't really like the album they were promoting.

I can't remember a lot of concerts. But I know they were good. :)

The Who, WHO ARE YOU, Capital Center. Somewhere in Maryland 1979

U2 1982? 1983? Jacksonville Civic Center

Rush, MOVING PICTURES, 1981 Jacksonville Colusieum, Tallahassee/Leon County Civic Center. Saw it twice. In Jax it was gen admission and I was on front row. In Tallahassee, I dropped some of the best fucking window pane I had ever done in my life!

Titty Bar, CULT OF RIFF I always wanted to be in a band named Titty Bar. It just sounds right.

My fav concert was Metallica w/ Corrosion of Conformity in Biloxi,Ms. They put on one hell of a show and both bands played very well. I rarely attend live shows, but this was one of the few that I did attend and I enjoyed every second of it. Later.

My favorite concert…

The Residents doing their Wormwood show at the House of Blues in Hollywood.

Bonnie Raitt opened for Don Henley...think it was in 1990-91..just great music all evening long.

Hard to decide, couple of good one in there.

Def Leppard on the Hysteria tour
Rolling Stones w/ Foo fighters
David Bowie w/ Peter frampton

The Amnesty tour wasn't bad either, Peter Gabriel & Bruce Springsteen were among the acts.

Ooh do I have 1 pick just 1.....

I'd have 2 say meeting Brian May from Queen after attending 1 of his rare solo gigs at the danforth music hall oct 93' touching that big Pouffy hair was certainly a thrill of a lifetime(being the QUEEN freak that I ams' eh hehe)
others that really rocked Depeche Mode(twice)
Melissa Etheridge at maple leaf gardens when I was like 6 months pregnant with my son.
The Rolling Stones'
Huey Lewis and the news
REM
David Usher(he's Canadian by the way)
Meatloaf
and the list just goes on and on:D

For those that know me, this is obvious...Lila McCann. I've seen her 5 times. Met her 5 times. She just seems SO COOL! Very down to earth. She talked alot to the crowd. In my opinion, that's what really counts.

P.S.-Accidently brushing up against her left tit was a moment I'll never forget. Yes, it was an accident.

The J. Geils Band, Freeze Frame Tour, the week the album made #1

3 Encores (only Bruce Springsteen & the E Street band had ever done that in that gym before):cool:

P.S.- I had floor seats on the Aisle!

Okay, I guess I'm pretty pitiful: I've been to two concerts in my life. I absolutely abhorred New Kids on the Block, but my sister and cousin convinced my mom to take us (that was when I was 8ish)

On the other hand, I adored my concert-going experience in April 2001: SR71 opened for the One Wild Night tour of Bon Jovi.
