Just had some ELO on and it reminded me of about 5 years or so ago when I tried to make mp3's from my old 'Out of the Blue'.

Other than that they have been stashed away in a few large boxes for the last 13 years.

I actually miss the album covers...cleaning the record with that large pad and solution...placing that needle carefully between songs.

I don't even know where my turntable is anymore.

I'll bet some of you younguns never even OWNED an LP...

An LP? What's that? Is that like one of those twirly frisbee things we have in our basement?

:D :D

Kidding, i'm not that stupid...but no, i've never owned one.

The first time my daughter saw a LP she looked at me and said "Mom you guys sure did have big CDs". Cracked me up!

You speak strange words...........turn-table? LP?

What is this Old English?

:D

I played
"GrandMasterFlash and the furious 5" lately

I still have a working turntable. It was state of the art once.
Hate to say it but that was 20 years ago.

Still funny what happens now when asking a girl "hey, wanna see my LP collection?"

i remember back in college playing DJ at our homegrown parties. We actually had to hang the turntable from the ceiling with wires since the floor bounced to much from the people. And at the end there was 50 albums need ing to back into the right covers...

Allman Brothers, Live from Filmore East, about 9 months ago.

I can't play my 78s anymore, though. Forget e-bay, I should just send them to the Smithsonian for the tax write-off.

The last LP I played was when I was about 7 years old and it was the Annie Soundtrack.

Andy Gibb, or it might have been the soundtrack from Grease. The old LP's haven't been out of the storage boxes in at least a decade.

Forget ebay. . .unfortunately they're not worth anything for the most part.

I just went through my collection (my kids love them). They're totally into the Beatles. And now they've discovered by 45 collection! I didn't even know I had some of this crap. I actually have a 45 of Michael Jackson's "Beat it". Probably the last 45 ever made (wonder if it's worth anything?).

Rarities include:

"El Paso" - Great old cowboy song (45)
"Theme from Superfly" - Curtis Mayfield (45)
"The Night Chicago Died" - Weird, but catchy (45)

and a lot more.

The last LP I played was "Sgt. Pepper".

I think the last LP I played was one of those pop mixes. I don't remember the company, but one of the record companies made a ton of mix records.

I Have All My Albums In Milk Crates!

7 Milk Crates Ta Be Exact:D

The Last One I Threw On The Turntable Was, Of Course, Ricki Lee Jones. I Never Did Go And Buy The CD Or Tape, The Records I Have Are In Wicked Great Shape!

I was listening to Deep Purple's Machine Head last night, and Led Zeppelin's Houses of the Holy, this morning. Over the Hills and Far Away is probably their greatest song ever.

I actually listen to my LPs pretty often, cuz I didn't go to CDs until later in life (about a year or so ago). It's kinda screwy since my hubby works for a music store...Last one would have been either Split Enz or King Missile. My record player's in my kitchen, so I catch up on my LPs while I cook.

Hubby, among other things, is a record collector. RNAB? You think your 7 milk crates are hot shit? Hubby's got *does mental calculations* about 30 or 35, is my guess. It's over 7,000 records. That's after he weeded out about 2,000 while we were extra-broke. They're completely blocking my 2nd bedroom and it PISSES ME OFF!

Funny you should say that because back in the eighties I went to an E.L.O concert and later found out that the whole concert was nothing but lip syching and air guitar.....They played a master tape of all the songs......Bastards! They got sued for it if I remember correctly.

I think that lip synching concerts is very wide spread by the way.....albeit there have been concerts I have been too that I WISH were synched, and dubbed over....DOH!

That being said, I think the last record I played was Cheech and Chong.

My Dad has offically given me all his LPs... Only ones i bother playing are Sgt Pepper and Woodstock.

Thelonius Monk, Leadbelly and the Mamas & the Papas arent my cup of tea :D

The last LP I played was Chuck Mangione's Children of Sanchez, sometime last week.

I stilll listen to my LP's since a lot of them don't exist on CD. Fortunately I was smart and bought a high-end turntable that should last longer than me.

CD's are great, but sometimes a few crackles and pops make the world right again. :)

Mason Proffit...............just so happens I have been working my way through all my records, one by one........fortunately the turn table still works fine.....................does take you back though..........

:( Mr Keen and I left our system in the US when we moved here, so no turntable here. But I loooooove LP's. Mr Keen was a DJ and has loads of them. Given the choice I think I would always prefer to play any of our older stuff - Stones, Beatles, any Motown, all the early punk stuff - on LP.

I saw some cmedian one time a few years ago talking about how he felt bad for young folks today who grew up with CD's instead of LP's. "What the hell do you roll your joints on?" Cracked me up it did.

Just roll smaller joints :D

The last album I played was INXS Kick. After that all tape and CD. I still use my walkman to job. CD skips too much but I'll prob go to a mini MP3 player soon.

That's the future of music. MP3. I just like saying it.
