what was the hits when you were born

Have no problem flashing my age. Especially since I kinda dig the two number ones listed as number 1:s my month of birth:

Manhattan Transfer - Chanson D'Amour
Abba - Knowing Me Knowing You

I wouldn't be able to answer this. :( I was apparently born so long ago that the phonograph or similar device hadn't been invented yet. :D

which makes you like 30?

2 Elvis Presley with The Jordanaires Hard Headed Woman
22 Little Richard Ooh My Soul (re-entry)
26 Fats Domino Sick And Tired

And a whole bunch I have never heard of either the artist or song.

Well anyway that was the hits that month.

How cool is that :)

Snoopy

sigh. I bought that record on 45.

as for me, Abba's Waterloo was #1

but, David Bowie's Rock 'N' Roll Suicide was #22 :D

the year I was born...

Peter Paul & Mary recorded the "please god don't let them play that again" song: Leavin' On A Jet Plane

Steam recorded the "played at every sporting event from now until the end of time woo hoo at least we get the royalties" song: Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye

Oh and the forgettable Sacha Distel recorded the unforgettable (only because it was so damned stupid): Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head

Ouch... sorry everyone!

Before charts

As one of the antediluvian giants - Music and the Muses hadn't been created.

As King Og - even before Joshua blew his trumpets around Jericho.

As King Henry VIII - my own composition 'Greensleeves'. Of course it was a hit. Anyone who didn't appreciate it could be imprisoned in the Tower of London on a bread and water diet if I felt merciful or the headsman's axe if I was annoyed.

Real life me - Hits didn't exist but Glenn Miller was popular.

Caveman beating two rocks together.

Seriously, and this is embarressing, Pat Boone'sFriendly Persuasion

There is a Fats Domino and Elvis Presley near the top of the charts, so let's just say I brought Rock & Roll into the world with me.
