What was Clint Eastwood trying to do?

Clint Eastwood is an icon to teh Angry Older White Male demographic.

He defines them.

As such he was a perfect fit for the Republican convention, the United States of America's premier venue for Angry Older White Males.

Many in the middle class are doing quite well.

Here are suggestions:
1) Finish High School.
2) Go to college and get a degree in something useful (STEM).
3) Don't have kids until you are married and can afford them.
4) Don't overspend on a house (and certainly don't buy without 20% down).
5) Only purchase used cars until you can pay cash for a new car (which may be never).
6) Stay married.
7) Don't make emotional purchases on credit.
8) Save, save, save.

Too many people blame the government and everybody else for their current lot in life.

Success starts with making good decisions.

Eastwood is an icon who defines American maleness. His adversaries are almost always crazy females, queers, bureaucrats, and tyrrants...like John Wayne, Gary Cooper, and Jimmy Stewart. Eastwoods appearance told you all you need to know about the Democrats. I reckon.

(Personally, I thought he was rambling. It was surreal.) ChinaBandits' quote, not mine

Clint is 82, sure he might ramble a bit, but, he was doing what they wanted him to do, wake up and warm up the crowd, I think he did the job.

It's kinda of unfortunate that the people who/whom need to read this template, won't and or can't. Basic things, that can be very helpful in life, as long as you don't go down the beaten path and get mugged by stupidity.

When someone speaks from the heart.....WITHOUT A TP

It seems that way

To those he INTENDED TO REACH

We heard....we understood......WE AGREE

Having said that, I didnt watch it, BUT I AGREE WITH WHATEVER HE SAID:cool:

He thought he was auditioning for the part of a confused and angry old man.

True that; he obviously gave Vette a boner.

The disaffected white male demographic wants someone to bomb/blame and Clint provides that subliminal blow your fucking head off vibe.

When it's all said and done, it was a crazy old white man talking to himself while fantasizing about an evil black man. It was the perfect depiction of the conservative movement. It was also much less disturbing than Paul Ryan.

Bravo, Clint.

It is interesting that a thread about Clint Eastwood turned into a discussion of Scat and Boners before reaching page 2.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

The Vettebigot used to obsess about scat, now he obsesses about other men's cocks.

Some people consider that an improvement.

Roger Ebert Calls Clint Eastwood Sad and Pathetic

120622_roger_ebert_ap_328.jpg

A giant fat tub of goo sits in a dark theater most of his life, writing make believe about make believe, and he’s calling other people sad and pathetic?

What’s truly sad, for Ebert, is that they don’t sell pre-chewed popcorn at the concession stands. Remember when he was picking out a computer voice that would capture the essence of his former speech? I hope the designer provided angry bitter whining, because that pretty much sums up the Ebert 2.0 essence.

Politishmo -

Film critic Roger Ebert gave actor Clint Eastwood’s speech at the Republican National Convention on Thursday two thumbs down.

“Clint, my hero, is coming across as sad and pathetic,” Ebert tweeted during Eastwood’s remarks. “He didn’t need to do this to himself. It’s unworthy of him.”

!snip!

What friggin arrogance – ” He didn’t need to do this to himself.”

I’m pretty sure Clint Eastwood does whatever the frig he wants, got it, Blinky?

Sharpton And Ed Schultz Blast Clint Eastwood For “Belittling” And “Demeaning” Obama…

We saw this one coming a mile away.

Via Mediaite:

Legendary actor and director Clint Eastwood made political history Thursday night by completely overshadowing a major party’s presidential nominee with a comedy bit centered around an empty chair, and while the audience ate it up, MSNBC’s Rev. Al Sharpton and Ed Schultz were not amused. Rev. Al accused Eastwood of “belittling” President Obama by suggesting he would curse Mitt Romney, while Big Ed called Eastwood’s interview of the empty chair “demeaning.”

really now?

How many times have we seen Obama GIVE TEH FINGER TO HIS OPPONENENT?

Hilarious thread. Vettebigot et al do realise that Clint is an actor, right? He doesn't really run around with a magnum killing bad guys. You do know that, right?
