.....rent and see some Dvd's.

I just saw two movies that are under the category 'watch-once-and-have-fun'

'Welcome to the Jungle' with The Rock: A nice, funny action comedy set in a jungle environment.
It fails as a buddy movie because this American Pie guy isn't really too funny but I have to say The Rock's character is really funny and he seems to be able to do more than let his muscles play (which of course he does mainly in this flick). Christopher Walken is not in the best of his roles but actually the film is a tad above mediocre. Entertaining.

'School of Rock' with Jack Black:
Superb movie in my opinion. Very funny, very cute. Jack Black is da man !!!! I didn't really care about his earlier films but this one rocked. (Get it? Rocked, ;) )
It's mainly Black'S doing because the children are sweet and cool but the humour comes from Black only. Therefore he really shows how to rock and even though he portraits a loser his character is understandable and very much likable.

So, the rainy day had its worth.

For our american readers ... the original title for "Welcome to the Jungle" is "The Rundown" ;).

Nice movie. The Rock is actually pretty good, so is Christopher Walken (as always). Sean William Scott had better roles before, but is still pretty decent. Not a movie I'd buy on DVD, but to for watching it once its ok.

And I agree with "School of Rock". Awesome movie. Jack Black is really great, but the kids are also very good. The movie doesn't run on Black alone.

Tigerland was the first meaningful Joel Schmacher movie I've watched.

Now I know what Colin Farrell looks like. A feminin (less angular), Irish version of Brad Pitt (I'm not gay).

CV: are you saying Brad Pitt is not gay, or that Brad Pitt says he is not gay, or that you are not gay?

I am not gay,

thank you for the clarification.

I would like to point out that the best part of "The Rundown" was the DVD's director's commentary with the Rock. The Rock has quite a sense of humor, much more than meets the eye.

The movie opens with him fighting three or four football players eight inches taller and who knows how much heavier. The director asks him if he'd consdiered what kind of tactics he would use if fighting like that for read.

The Rock replied he had been in fights like that routinely while working his way up in the death matches of Thailand.
