Wire, open source so anybody can verify the code, end to end encryption by default, chats stored on there server only until read on the other end. Run by a bunch of former skype people. Easy to get an account you just need an email address and you don't have to wait for a moderator to okay your account.

Not a single spam call or text in all that time.

It is just a basic intuitive messaging app with a focus on privacy and while a # is required to use it doesn't reveal your # UNLESS you want your # revealed

Hello all,

I just received the devastating news that Skype will officially shutter in May 2025. I’ve been using it since I was a tween so this is hitting me pretty hard. Where are you all going to stay connected or phone now? Something that keeps tabs of your past conversations and you can remain anonymous would be optimal. I’m really sad about it though. Any thoughts or suggestions? A lot of people don’t use it anymore apparently, I thought it was really helpful though.

There's always "Facetime" via phone or "JusTalk" for a PC based app. I was crushed too, I used Skype to keep in touch with my family, half a world away, in real time.

I used signal but have forgotten my password. Kik is so full of bots don't use it anymore. Google chat scans your pictures and I think the chat too for viruses I like using g chat. . I like using skype too. both of the last two sites have good cam too. Don't ever think that the sites say they don't see your stuff. Unless its enquripted at both ends and you need a key to open on the receiving end. Pretty sure someone is listining and watching. Even vpn's from the USA. now have a back door for the gov. to go in. So Im not worried, someone somewhere knows what going on. Even the person you cam with can record you and do whatever they want with it. Oh well life goes on. It's the possers that try and get you to send them pictures, saying their a lady but a guy. You can figure that out quickly when the picture they send you Google it. or you don't hear back after you send pictures. You can pretty much know then that it wasn't a lady in the first place. Helps to get that figured out if they will or wont cam with you. Ok Im done ranting. Hope everyone finds there place to talk and cam. I know I have found a couple ladies that will cam to prove they are a real lady. Damn its fun caming with a lady when I can mmmmmmm

You can also figure out they are fake when they tell you that they want to spend rest of life with yiu. You are theor perfect partner and ask you to help them out by sending an itunes gift card or something similar after half a dozen messages. Then play the hurt game when you wont send money

Yes. Depends on if people want to give out their number. I don’t mind. I don’t think I’m anyone to stalk or steal from but others would disagree about their personal assets so. It’s like climbing a brick wall.

I had a pro whereby account for a while. Great for groups
