What to do about plagiarism on Literotica?

PM Laurel

That's happened to me before and I reported it and it was promptly taken down.

Why would someone do that? It seems very strange!

I understand people are stealing our stories and selling them on Amazon or whatever. Which is pretty aggravating. But at least I can understand it.

Posting a copy here? What does that do for anyone>

A few years ago a reader contacted me to let me know someone had posted one of my stories as their own, thing was it was brand new and a contest entry, so its not like it was an old story that someone wouldn't notice right away or at all. People are strange

I *guess* a contest entry makes some sense? Maybe?

Hard to imagine they would think they could get away with it in the end though.

I suppose here on Literotica you can just take it as "the highest form of flattery" -- since there's no one really profiting off of this anyway -- but yeah.

Along a similar note. What do you do when you find your stuff posted on a Russian website? I saw a comment on it in English from a Russian! I'm afraid to click on the actual Russkie site for fear of getting my computer hacked! ;-)

You remind yourself that you gave it away for free on the Internet to begin with so any efforts of redress on instances like this are so much spitting in the wind.

You cannot see my chuckle but it's here! Yes, you're correct of course. And, of course, you do know what happens when you spit into the wind? You only have to do that once to learn you don't want to do it twice. Unless, of course, it's for one of those weird Lit stories where your characters like that sort of thing.

Admire Vlad the Lad's taste in porn, and go no further than that! As you say, you're not gonna click on the link.

Nope! Not clicking that link! But I hadn't thought that Vlad the Lad had taken a 'personal' interest in MY stories! Hum, now, if that's the case, maybe, i'm okay with that. He does seem to have good taste in women ... using my stories for bedtime readings now seems quite an honor!
