What threshold does a Governor have to cross

That says it all, thanks.
A President should not have the ability to make up shit to elevate their powers. Congress should have the power to check that ability.

You can disagree during this presidency as you need, but I doubt you would under a Democratic presidency.

I'm starting this regardless of what party is in power.

And while Congress does have that ability now, to some degree, I believe this should be required for any emergency declaration.....specifically within a certain period of time.

Like I said, you don't get to decide. You might want to go read the law before you dig too deep a hole for yourself.
This whole issue is misrepresented. Trump is not sending troops to quell an insurrection. That's a democrat talking point to demonize the use of title 10 troops. The civil disturbances incited by state politicians is on them. However, when civil unrest interferes with the lawful discharge of immigration law and civil disobedience becomes a threat to federal law enforcement or federal facilities then the president is well within his article II authority to protect and assist in upholding federal law.

Now bounties are being put on the heads of ICE agents. Local law enforcement are ordered not to come to the aid of federal law enforcement is despicable political behavior. If an ICE agent is killed these local city councils and mayors will have blood on their hands.

This crisis rest squarely on the shoulders Joe Biden and Alejandro Mayorkas.

No congress shouldn't. Congress is a legislative body not equipped to deal with day to day management of the country.

Congress is a representation of the people

Also Article 1.

They have the largest responsibility to check Executive abuse of power.

Sorry that you prefer a dictator.

Article II gives the executive branch the authority to enforce our laws. That's why Biden got away with not enforcing immigration law. His lack of enforcing I/L is the reason we're in this mess in the first place.

And article 1 gives our Representative Congress to check that authority.

I don't mind that the President declares an emergency. I do mind that Congress isn't required to review that emergency.

You can't comment on anything without bringing up Biden.....sad.

I'll add, Ukraine Parliament is required, by law, to review and approve extension of emergency powers every 90 days. I suggest that our laws do the same .
No problem, the 82nd Airborne could probably clean that shit hole out in 3 weeks.

Of course it is. You suggested 90 days, I opined that a well trained outfit could get it done a lot faster than that.
I didn't suggest anything about remediation of the issue. 90 days was regarding review of the order to be required.

I believe all emergencies that 47 has declared have gone well beyond 90 days.
