What...the...fuck...

Honestly pleased with the subsequent actions following this shooting:
  • The officer has been fired
  • The officer has been charged with murder
  • The chief of police is on record as saying there is "no excuse" for this shooting

You don't see this level of responsibility in most police departments nowadays. In fact, when the Ft. Worth police department initially issued not one but two press releases that "the victim had a gun at her residence", my first thought was "here we go again with victim blaming".
one adjustment: the shooter resigned but only just before he was about to be fired. his arse was grass.

You’re opinion is greatly flawed, actually it’s pretty stupid!

Gee, I dunno.... "Psssst, hey buddy, wanna buy a gun?" doesn't really fit in the situation rubbery was postulating.

Wrong again Timmeh.

You are correct, in 29 states you cannot sell to out of state residents, even as a "private sale". I was mistaken, but unlike you and "permanently disabled" veterans on this board, I admit to my errors of facts.

Within those 29 states,is a horse of a different color: you can call yourself a "private reseller" at gun shows and not have to fill out any Federal forms to sell to residents of those states. You don't need to do any pesky background check. You can sell to anyone.

The ATF I'm told monitors these gun shows for glibertarians who actually have businesses selling weapons of death. They harass folks who continually have new inventory and set up "private dealer" tables at these mass murder celebration festivals.

You should spell check when calling someone stupid.

I can't control it, it just happens, I didn't call him stupid, I said his opinion is stupid. I can't get my spelling right and you can't get you're facts right.

LMFAO :nana:

Que's cricket phone has always had a wonky speech-to-text autocorrect. The results sometimes are ducking hilarious.

So icanhelp1 is a Que alt?
Color me shocked!

I was starting to identify a bit with him, because he said he's a 2nd generation immigrant (parents from South America - Cuba, I think.).

He also said that he did his College thesis on some Russian or Middle Eastern historical - political theme or something.

Fort Worth chief: ‘absolutely no excuse’ for woman’s killing

By Jake Bleiberg and Jill Bleed

"FORT WORTH, Texas (AP)...Officer Aaron Dean was arrested on a murder charge Monday in the slaying of Atatiana Jefferson. Police released an arrest warrant Tuesday quoting the victim’s 8-year-old nephew as saying Jefferson had pulled out a gun after hearing suspicious noises behind her house...

...It wasn’t clear from the warrant whether Dean even saw her weapon through the glass...

...In the arrest warrant, Jefferson’s nephew said his aunt had taken a gun from her purse and pointed it at the window. Over the weekend, the Police Department also stirred anger by releasing images of the gun inside the home..."

So ... are you trying to make the argument that since she possessed a gun, while in her home, while some unknown individual was skulking outside her windows that she is somehow responsible for the officer not following protocol?

Tossing the doucebag republican spin.

YaY!

Not at all. But it does raise a question about what, if anything he saw. If, in fact he did see her pointing a gun in his direction, the case changes dramatically. It becomes one of possible justification if he felt directly threatened.

Cops do that all the time, whether there is/was an actual threat or not. Look up the recent case in Georgia where a cop shot a naked guy in the back, but was acquitted.

No excuse. It does not change at all. He did not follow protocol. He didn't identify himself. He started firing his weapon before he even finished yelling. He didn't use any of the de-escalation procedures. If a person cannot arm themselves in defense in their own home then when can they? This wasn't a home invasion call. It was a wellness check. If some unknown person was skulking around my windows in the middle of the night, I should have no fear that a cop will shoot me when I pull out my gun to protect myself. Because he felt threatened specifically as a result of not following procedure.

Selective quoting is a Trysail standard. On a scale of 1-to-BotanyBoy he's a solid "9".

I've never seen him try to "make an argument". Links and colorful fonts seems to be the extent of his capabilities.

Depending on how or if that information is presented at trial, I see a Jury having a hard time convicting.

So, I'm "wrong" even as you admit I'm correct?

Get your act together rubbery, you're starting to look stupid. Again.

Gee, I dunno.... "Psssst, hey buddy, wanna buy a gun?" doesn't really fit in the situation rubbery was postulating.

I'll go out on a limb and say not all gun acquisitions require a 4473. Am I wrong? And no, not counting back alley sales out of a car trunk at night.

If he did see her pointing a gun in his direction, why would he say "show me your hands"?

No, not all. Fathers can gift guns to their sons without filling out a form in most places. In some places, private sales aren't required to go through a background check either.

But that's not what rubbery said. He said the people will cross State lines to buy guns which is a crime at the very least, and nearly impossible to do since gun shops/gun show dealers will not sell to you if you're not a resident in that State. THAT is what the face of ignorance looks like here on Lit.

Further, the "gunshow loophole" doesn't exist. It's a myth. A fraud perpetrated on the ignorant who lapped it up because they're A. Stupid. B. Ignorant. C. Dumb. D. Eager to adhere to just about any ridiculous fantasy that someone makes in the name of "safety" and "security".

If you buy a gun in a "private sale" OUTSIDE the "gun show", it's not part of the "gun show" now is it? Yet there you are, believing another lie fed to you but the MSM and your feckless politico's hoping to scare you enough that you'll vote for them while they LIE TO YOU. Which means you're either A., B., C., or D. Unless it's E. All of the above.

I admitted I was wrong about the state-line thing, so enjoy your victory.

You, on the other hand, refuse to acknowledge that in 29 states gun show dummies can call themselves "private sellers" AT GUN SHOWS and not have to deal with pesky gummint paperwork selling to in-state residents. That's on you.

Keep trying to conflate gun shows with gun dealers to avoid taking responsibility for your error, though...it's fun watching you try to spin

You're an idiot. You know NOTHING about "gun shows" because if you did, you'd know that the gun sellers at gun shows are "gun dealers". They have to have FFL licenses and business licenses and pay taxes on the things they sell at "gun shows".

The guy with the '62 Chevy and a trunk full of goodies out in the parking lot isn't "part of" the "gun SHOW", he's a private citizen selling stuff. (BTW, some States have laws which prohibit the guy from being on the gun show "grounds", including the areas immediately outside the parking, lot to conduct this type of private sale anyway. So, once again, the "gun show loophole" doesn't exist.)

And NONE OF THIS has anything to do with you saying the people can cross State lines to buy guns.
