First of all I decided to get this movie from Netflix off of one description. The movie just got released Tuesday. From what I read of the description I thought it was a horror movie or a dramatic thriller. It ended up being a religious propoganda film about christianity and the power of prayer and faith in god....

I wonder why I thought it sucked from the beginning.. *laugh*

Anyway, besides the movie sucking, I went back to the Netflix page for the movie which is called "The List".

It mentioned this for a rating.

PG: For thematic elements including some peril and brief incidental smoking

What the fuck? "peril and brief incidental smoking"?

I wish I would have seen this before I decided to take a chance on a new release....

I had no idea peril and incidental smoking were factors in deciding a movie's ratings....

Incidental smoking should only warrant a PG rating if it's people smoking...because their bodies are on fire.

Well, okay... that might warrant PG-13.

I was a masochist and watched the entire movie...........

I don't remember anything even smoking.....

SO how can someone be incidentally smoking anway.. doesn't SOMEONE Else have to be smoking in the first place? I'm thinkin' there was a lit cigarette still in an ashtray and someone walked by it and I missed that....

It was probably someone smoking on a hill waaaaaayyy in the background - out of focus, "incidentally."

I will beware of Netflix flix with hidden (or not-so-hidden) religious agendas. Thank you for the word of caution.

The smoking was from your brain as you sat through the flick.

Parents determine the ratings of movies and can use any criteria they wish to evaluate and determine a movie's rating.

I am sure parents are quite conscience of how the "Bit Screen" has glamorized smoking in the past and how it can influence their children's perception of cigarette smoking.

Here's the Netflix review I gave for this movie called "The List"

if you have netflix click on this movie and you'll be able to see the actual review I made on the first page....

review:

I feel totally hornswaggled. I got duped into thinking this was a horror movie. Even a thriller maybe. But it's really a religious propoganda movie about Christianity. I knew there was a reason this movie sucked from the beginning. Don't put this movie in your queue if you want to be entertained. I feel even worse that it took me half the movie to figure out its agenda. I'll give it 1.1 stars.. I'd give it less, But I'm to blame for getting this in the first place. Don't make the same mistake. The reason the movie is PG rated should have given me a clue to how lame this movie was. PG for peril and incidental smoking. Huh? What the heck is this? Malcolm Macdowell was in it. Yes the guy who was in Caligula and A Clockwork Orange is doing movies about christianity and the power of prayer. Who would have thought that huh?

Maybe you should watch it again and see if you can find that smoldering cigarette in the ashtray. Now THAT would show you were a masochist

oh I'm into light pain..... not harsh wounding pain........

and that's what seeing this movie again would be......

I noticed on Netflix.... less than half of the people found my review helpful..... I'm guessing I offended the christians...

I wouldn't want you to suffer harsh wounding pain. You don't deserve that. Sorry you suffered thru that movie too. Does this make it any better? :kiss: and a big {{hug}}

You can't judge a bookie by his corner.
