What temperature do you set your heat to?

Wait... you can set your... HEAT?!

Menopause has come a long way in recent years, hasn't it, Sandy?

70. I prefer to be in the 60s but my husband hates the cold so we compromise

We live in Florida so most of the year the A/C is set to 76 in the day and 74 at night. When we do get a cold snap we set the heat to 69. We only need the heat a few days a year (usually around 10 - 20 days).

I have old-tech passive solar heat at my desert home. It's called a Trombe wall, and it' located on the south side of my house. No moving parts. No noise. No utility bill.

The catch is that I typically have to adapt to an interior temperature change from a high of about 78 degrees F in the evening to a low of 62 in the morning. So I go to bed with no covers and miraculously wake up covered with a sheet and a comforter.

This thread made me chuckle because the subject of temperature and humidity control is actually a hot topic among acoustic guitar players, particularly high end Martin guitars.

They are constructed with thin pieces of top quality wood on the top and body, and have minimal bracing inside the body to provide superior sound. They are very sensitive to changes in humidity, particularly low humidity which is common in winter when people run the heat.

The acoustic guitar discussion forums are full of endless debates about room temperature, room humidifiers, and guitar humidity packs that go inside the body of guitars stored in the case. Funny to see the crossover interest between guitar players and erotic literature enthusiasts. šŸ™‚
