Not necessarily. It’s possible to cover your tracks with things like Tor Browser and any of dozens of VPN services, clearing your local browser history, and doing the occasional hard drive scrub.

All of which might help to a greater or lesser degree against casual snooping from Officer Pretzel and Commissioner Canard, but will have the square-root of fuck-all effect if the people who are after you have the resources of a nation state behind them.
