What Stories Do you Plan to Write for the 2026 Events and Competitions

There's no way I can write stories for everything so I'm lining up my writing projects now for these for 2026 -

Anyone want to join me in thinking about which events and competitions to write for? I'm going for a few of these here, plus whatever else I can squeeze in. LOL. Overcommitting? I think so! But I figure with 2026 full of events and compeitions, I really want to plan out my writing and pick and choose. And of course this is not taking into account what I'm writing off of Literotica. LOL

Since I still have follow-on WIPs from the very first Geek's Anthology and the first Mickey Spillane collection, the notion of a "plan" to write stories is ridiculous!

The only thing that I have ideas for is the Heroism challenge, and that's just based on the gallery of Heroes I developed over this year. I still want to participate on the Valentine's contest and the Fan Fic challenge, but I have no ideas for either of them. I might end up cracking my notebook of filthy ideas to see what I can cook with.

On the plus side, I can go through the archive of things I've written over the last 20 years and pull something that fits each of these.

Some are fully written, some are just pieces I've written down, but they exist somewhere on my hard drive. It's just a matter of finding them and still liking them.

I remember I started writing it the same day in which Facebook had a blackout that coincided with Frances Haugen blowing the whistle around the company. Fun times.

Another time for a fixup. This week is getting busy now, and I haven't even finished preparing for NaNo.

I will definitely be submitting for Crime & Punishment because I'm just going to be submitting the story that I already had written for this year that died in Pending limbo.

TBD regarding fanfiction challenge but I doubt I'll be able to stay away, though real life has a way of intruding.

The non-profit organization National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) shut down in April 2025 due to a combination of factors, including declining participation, lack of funding, controversy over child safety and moderator behavior, and a confusing stance on Artificial Intelligence (AI). An interim executive director announced the closure and cited internal struggles and community-related issues as primary reasons for the shutdown.

That information is all over online, including the e-mail I had from them.
