What sort of stories are most popular with people?

Just wondering, I'd like to be able to get feedback on stuff that I write, but it seems that only happens if you are racking up the votes? (new user alert!)

I have a bunch of stories in progress and in mind, which cover a range of tastes and styles. Are people here pretty open about what they find a turn-on, or are mainstream fantasies like lesbians more "acceptable" fare than other stories?

Hey Cathedral, our Madam, Mistress Laurel, posted a thread about a week ago entitled "Interesting Literotica Search Stats" which indicates "anal" is more than twice as popular as any other fucking subject. I would have thunk the anal retentive Flagg would have known that better than anyone.

For innovative themes, try stories about fucking God or fucking chickens or fucking dead chicks. Maybe a gorilla with a big thrilla.

I think you should write what turns YOU on. More likely than not, you'll find a following if your story is well-written.

As for feedback, you can ask directly for feedback in the feedback section. You can contact a few Volunteer Editors before you even submit your story. Or you might add a little blurb at the end of your story, saying that you enjoy hearing from readers.

Take a ferinstance, I read everything Whispersecret puts out cause its good, not necessarily cause I like the subject. Some of her topics I don't particularly care for, but I love the story itself.

There's a board here called "Story Feedback" (at least, I think that's the title) where you can post this same type of question and get specific feedback on your stories. Of course, if you make the top 20 list, that's a good sign too! I've heard that there hasn't been much voting going on lately though. I'm not sure if that's still true...

To answer another question of yours, I seem to like the "extreme" stories the most... I also like the incest, fetish, and group ones.

I agree with pretty much everyone else that I enjoy a story the most if it's well written, free of glaring grammatical errors, though we all make the occasional typo, with well developed characters and a clear storyline.

However, there are a few types of stories I don't like no matter how well written, but this, of course is my personal opinion. I don't like anything same-sex, and I don't like violent non-consent. I do enjoy non-consent if it's the "drill instructor kidnaps a private who learns to enjoy it and maybe even like him" type thing. Semi violent doesn't bother me either, if it's well written. A little hair pulling or restraint is fine...it's the blood and gore I don't care for.

I do have to comment that it's the VERY occassional incest story I like. It's just not one of my faves.

As far as the types of stories I like they are ususally the one's that are rated EC, LW, or RM.

They have to have some originality in characters, plot twists or descriptions. (Thats what they all say, I know)
