I know, I know, almost impossible to find one song that defines you, but if you had to choose one song that could be your theme song as a member of the lifestyle, which one would it be?

if I could choose, probably mine would be, "My way" by Eddie Cochran (ya gotta love the oldies)

How about Seether's "Broken" with Amy Lee. Its a song of sadness and longing.

I want you to know I love the way you laugh
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away
I keep your photograph and I know it service me well
I wanna hold you high and steal you pain

Because I'm broken when I'm open and I don't feel like
I am strong enough
Because I am broken when I'm lonesome and I don't feel right
when your gone away

The worst is over now and we can breathe again
I wanna hold you high you steal my pain away
There's so much left to learn and on one left to fight
I wanna hold you high and stea your pain

Because I'm broken when I'm open and I don't feel like
I am strong enough
Because I am broken when I'm lonesome and I don't feel right
when your gone away

You've gone away
you don't feel me anymore

Great Question

Bad to the Bone by George Thorogood ? Naw, I'm too nice a guy

Dazed and Confused by Led Zeppelin? Only occasionally.

Honestly, the first song that popped into my head was Room To Move by John Mayall. It is one of the very best live songs I have ever heard.

I'm going to give this some more thought.

Someone to Watch Over Me...

By various artists, including Frank Sinatra.

It's old but I've always loved it.

Right now, it'd have to be

"When Sorrow Sang" by Blind Guardian....

And if you've never heard them, I'd recommend them.
Think...epic fantasy rock.
The album that I have of theirs is called "Nightfall in Middle Earth" and it's all based off of Tolkien's stuff. :D

LNE

Maybe this one

The second serious song to pop into my head was My Way by Frank Sinatra.

I better stop now. All this thinking is making my head hurt.

Bend Me Shape Me...by Americam Breed.

Now there’s a song that brings to mind all sorts of pleasant imagery.

Two songs

"Break Me"

I will meet you
In some place
Where the light lends itself
To soft repose
I will let you undress me
But I warn you
I have thorns
Like any rose
And you could hurt me
With your bare hands
You could hurt me
With with the sharp end
Of what you say
But I'm lost to you now
And there's no
Amount of reason
That could save me
So break me
Take me
Just let me
Feel your arms again
Break me
I'll let you make me
Just let me
Feel your love again

Feels like being underwater
Now that I've let go
And lost control
Water kisses fill my mouth
Water fills my soul

So break me
Take me
Just let me
Feel your arms again
Break me
Make me
Just let me
Feel your love again

Kiss me once
Well, maybe twice
Oh, it never felt so nice
So break me
Take me
Let me
Feel your arms again
Break me
Make me
Just let me
Feel your arms again
Just let me
Feel your love again

"Mystery Train"

There are days when she's a whisper
Nights when she's a scream
A reason to wake up in the morning
To close your eyes and dream
She'll curse you like a sailor
She'll wound you with her eyes
She always makes it better
But she won't apologize
I know everything about her but don't know her at all
[Chorus: ]
She's a ride on a mystery train
To a place you've never been before
Better hold on tight to that mystery train
You're not in Kansas anymore
She's a ride
Mystery train

She cries because she's happy
She sings songs when she's mad
Like a stiff drink when you need it
She's good at being bad
And long before you knew her you knew she was the one

[Chorus: ]
I know everything about her but don't know her at all

[Chorus:]
She's a ride
On a mystery train
She's a ride
On a mystery train

When I was a trucker it was...
Wasted Years... Iron Maiden

From the coast of gold, across the seven seas,
I'm travelling on, far and wide,
But now it seems, I'm just a stranger to myself,
And all the things I sometimes do, it isn't me but someone else.

I close my eyes, and think of home,
Another city goes by, in the night,
Ain't it funny how it is, you never miss it til it's gone away,
And my heart is lying there and will be til my dying day.

Chorus:
So understand
Don't waste your time always searching for those wasted years,
Face up...make your stand,
And realise you're living in the golden years.

Too much time on my hands, I got you on my mind,
Can't ease this pain, so easily,
When you can't find the words to say, it's hard to make it through another day,
And it makes me wanna cry, and throw my hands up to the sky.

Chorus:
So understand
Don't waste your time always searching for those wasted years,
Face up...make your stand,
And realise you're living in the golden years.

Now it's...
Firefly... Joss Whedon

Take my love. Take my land.
Take me where I cannot stand.
I don't care, I'm still free.
You can't take the sky from me.

Take me out to the black.
Tell 'em I ain't comin' back.
Burn the land And boil the sea.
You can't take the sky from me.

Have no place I can be since I found Serenity.
But you can't take the sky from me.

And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain.
My friend, Ill say it clear,
Ill state my case, of which Im certain.

Ive lived a life thats full.
Ive traveled each and evry highway;
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets, Ive had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

I planned each charted course;
Each careful step along the byway,
But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Yes, there were times, Im sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew.
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall;
And did it my way.

Ive loved, Ive laughed and cried.
Ive had my fill; my share of losing.
And now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.

To think I did all that;
And may I say - not in a shy way,
No, oh no not me,
I did it my way.

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels;
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows -
And did it my way!

Leeroy there are songs I love..... they vary based on my mindset, whats current to me, how I embrace or refute. I can easily throw a few out but they don't 'define' me in the biblical sense. There are songs I just really like as well that also wouldn't fit the criteria.......

I would share , simply don't have one.

Thanks Leeroy for your kind offer I appreciate it :rose:

Another version of a classic

Here is the Sex Pistols own unique version of Frank’s song.

And now, the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
You cunt, I'm not a queer
I'll state my case of which I'm certain
I've lived a life that's full
And each and every highway
And yet, much more than this
I did it my way

Regrets I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do
I saw it through without exemption
I've planned each charted course
Each careful step along the highway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way

There were times,
I'm sure you knew
When there was fuck, fuck
Fuck all else to do
But through it all,
When there was doubt
I shot it up or kicked it out
I faced 'em all and the world
And did it my way

I've loved and been a snide
I've had my fill, my share of losing
And now the tears subside
I find it all so amusing
To think, I killed a cat
And might I say not in the gay way
Oh no, oh no, not me
I did it my way

For what is a Brit,
What has he got
When he wears hats and he cannot
Say the things he truly feels
But only the words
Of one who kneels
The record shows,
I've got no clothes
And did it my way

I am usually up at 4am Miss ADR , reflects how early I retire and 'buys' me , the peace and quiet ( can hear the ocean , no traffic noises ) I desire.........

The words just really remind me of the good and the bad times of my submission and the journey to getting where I am today...

Eagle When She Flies

Shes been there, God knows, shes been there
She has seen and done it all
Shes a woman, she know how to
Dish it out or take it all
Her hearts as soft as feathers
Still she weathers stormy skies
And shes a sparrow when shes broken
But shes an eagle when she flies
A kaleidoscope of colors
You can toss her around and round
You can keep her in you vision
But youll never keep her down
Shes a lover, shes a mother
Shes a friend and shes a wife
And shes a sparrow when shes broken
But shes an eagle when she flies

Gentle as the sweet magnolia
Strong as steel, her faith and pride
Shes an everlasting shoulder
Shes the leaning post of life
She hurts deep and when she weeps
Shes just as fragile as a child
And shes a sparrow when shes broken
But shes an eagle when she flies

Tag:

Shes a sparrow when shes broken
But shes an eagle when she flies
Oh, bless her, lord
Shes an eagle when she flies

Song of Myself, Walt Whitman....

"I too am not a bit tamed, I too am untranslatable,
I sound my barbaric yawp over the roofs of the world. "
