We are almost finished with an extended remodeling of our kitchen. What should be the first meal cooked to inaugurate it?

Recipes would be appreciated.

Don't have the recipes, but a nice combo of broiled lobster tails, and a beef Wellington sounds good to me. Maybe some steamed aspargus to go with it.

Well that gives me something to Google on the net. Thanks

chicken & lime soup

marinated black tiger prawns served as kebabs on lemongrass sticks

tagliatelle alla buttanesca with shavings of fresh parmesan

profiteroles with white wine & white chocolate sauce

that's what I cooked my guests last w/end - can only recommend it :)

alternatively go for Maccaroni & Cheese :D

Can I cook things I can't pronounce. Doubtful. I did warm up a can of Campbells soup last night, but I wasn't going to count that.

honeyroasted plums with mascarpone and roasted pistachios.

So this would be an appetizer for the evening to come?

actually that's the dessert.

I could come up with something gourmet and simple for you if you like.

A baby green salad with fresh torn peaches and buffalo mozzarella with a balsamic viniagrette and pear tomatoes would be a great start.
