So I thought I would start a thread, my first.

Have you ever have something happen that you thought...

Oh my fricking God, I can't believe he/she did that? or that it happened at all!

You weren't angry, or happy, just stunned!

Well, that is what this thread is all about.

I'll start.

So my daughter who is 17 and just graduated form High School, never been on a date, only kissed one boy, called me today to tell me she lost her virginty last night!

Total freak, I thought i would have a while before i had to worry about this. Maybe she would date a bit in college, or when she got a job. At least she used protection, thank god.

i have tried very hard to make sure she feels she can talk to me about anything, and since i am the only parent she called, i would say i did a good job. So she is on the phone with me telling me that neither of them had orgasisms, and that she gave him a hand job, that he did not know how to properly put on a condom (unrolled it first), etc. She said she laughed the whole time they were together, you would have to know her she is so funny. Asked him, "Should I name it?"

So it sounds like even though she really had no previous knowledge it was a good experience for her, much better than my first time. i honestly don't know what to think, JUST A COMPLETE SHOCK.

So this week i told her i would show her how to put on a condom, and take her to the doctor to get on birth control. We will sit down and talk about safety, and esteem and a myraid of other topics, i will answer alot of questions. i don't think i ever would have talked to my mom about.

Wow, I can see how that was stunning! But it's so great she actually called to tell you about it. Especially since it wasn't a bad experience and that's why she needed you, she just wanted to share. You must be a wonderful mom!

LOL, I remember those moments well, though they didn't shock or surprise me. My daughter lost her virginity at home while I was there...not in the same room...she told me later that evening while we were doing the dishes together. She also called me first when she suspected she was pregnant to the boyfriend she was living with (couple of years later and different partner to her first). She thought I would freak out but I just answered her questions about the home tests she had taken and asked her if she had decided what she wanted to do as in have the baby, have an abortion, come home, stay with him, etc., and reassure her she had my support no matter what her decision was. She was going to have me at the birth, but we missed out on that as she was very ill and as they didn't seem to be able to lower her temperature or keep any food or liquid in her (and still cannot tell us why she was so ill), they decided to do an emergency C section for her and my grand daughter's health.

She had thought about separating from the father of her child while she was pregnant but stayed as I said perhaps she was having mood swings due to the pregnancy and she needed to be sure before doing anything drastic. She stayed, but decided 3 weeks after the birth she still wanted out so called me incase she needed moral support...she ended up needing a little more than that, but I supported her through it and got her the help she needed to get on her feet and be safe. I look back on many of these moments now and wonder how I manage to remain calm...my mother says I inherited her mother's peace and patience.

I'm a bit late...but that story did shock me beyond belief... so very awful for the victim and his family.
