What pissed you off today? Mark III

Finland has been on my bucket list for ages.

Many years ago I went to Helsinki on a work trip for a few days for a staff meeting. In addition to work, the trip included the following:
  • Reindeer fondue for dinner
  • Curling with an Olympic medal-winning Finn
  • Dancing at the Tiger Club until closing time
  • Drinking the hotel bar out of shot glasses (hooray team-building!)

I'm sure Seela will be able to devise a Lit-together agenda that will be even more fun than that trip was!

Seriously.
Iceland.
Ireland.
Finland.
Croatia.

I’ve been to the Caribbean and back so many times. I love the beach, but I want to mix it up.

Are you ready to host all of us?

Umm, sure. If people actually bother to haul their butts all the way here, I'll host my butt off.

Finland has been on my bucket list for ages.

Yes, come! The much coveted spot #4 of Litsters I've met IRL is up for grabs! :p

I don't know, to me it sounds like you've practically already experienced everything there is to experience in Helsinki. The agenda for The First Finnish Lit-Together would probably be the exact same, only we'd do so much more curling. Every night!

And Tiger's been closed for some years already, but I'm sure we can find another club where you can dance. I can have two drinks and watch. :D

Oh, you didn't mention running away from a pack of rabid wolves that roams the streets of Helsinki, so I guess there would be something new for you to experience as well.

Party at Seela's house! Yay!

Feeling so ill that I can't even sleep to escape it.
Ugh
What a lovely Christmas this will be.

I had to be the one to tell my baby brother our grandmother died in the early hours of this morning. Despite me telling our maternal unit (who he's on good terms with) as a double check in case my aunt or uncle who with our grandmother were too exhausted to tell both of them. Maternal unit should have at least messaged him, seems kinda fucked up he had to hear it from me via fb message because I'm too tore up to talk on the phone and not sob. Dang acid tears aren't helping either, I have irritated tracks down my face on both sides and not enough of a fuck to give to cover them up.

I am so sorry for your loss. The holidays are so difficult for this. :rose:

Blue, feel better. :rose:

Vixandra, what a heartache. The holidays make it worse. I hope you feel better, too.

Oh, Vix, I'm sorry to hear it :-(

Thanks all. I'm grieving and not looking foreword to dealing with many family members that are firm super conservative Christians. I'm the very black sheep of the family so don't see much of the family bs online. And the stress they put on my aunt, who I'm really close to, that has me outraged. At least this time she seems to be setting better boundaries and sharing the burden with her remaining brother.

It's loss and regret and all the "I should have done more" stuff, though the last I kinda had to take a medical pass on.

Having to spread the bosses' ashes over his favorite reef today. It should have happened two weeks ago but that trip was arranged by Larry, Moe, and Curly so we had to go out in the boat a 2nd time.

I think I have just been ghosted. By someone we took into our home for Christmas.
They seemed perfectly fine then and since then. Until today. Has disappeared from instant messaging and think I have been blocked on social media. Wtf?
Feel confused and sad.
Maybe there is another explanation. Would have been nice to have heard it first.

I'm exhausted and catching up on work. Couldn't sleep last night until after 3 (why is New Years a fireworks all damn night holiday?) Eldest was up from 10pm to 130 am over the fireworks and music neighbors were playing. I stayed with him and panicking dog until the explosions stopped and I could put kiddo to bed, everyone else was asleep.

So up at nine to screaming because while hubby gets to be cranky when tired no one else does. My grandmother died Christmas Eve and my uncle the week before and my maternal unit had a breast mass removed right before New Years. So, I think rather understandably, I'm so fucking not okay it's cycling the fibro into a flare. But it feels like I can't be anything other than a pleasant doll with quick-release strings or I'm the bad party no matter what I do.

And I get to look forward to more fireworks all damn week and screaming from 9-12 because hubby can't listen to me when I ask he wait for 10 or keep our sons normal in home ABA therapy times of 330-630 so I can help keep things smoother. Great start to the year
