My sister‘s boyfriend took me to my junior prom on the back of his road bike. I don’t remember which road it was exactly, but it was hilly and I was in my communion dress. Sebastian lived in a mansion.

A boy had asked me out. His name was Sebastian and I had told my mum. I told her Sebastian had asked me out to prom and I wasn’t sure and she said tell him yes and that I would go into the prom.

We went and there were fireworks. And there was no fireworks between us because I was gay and I love women,

But. I never forget the soundtrack of that time of my life. The Big Chill.

The Big Chill was one of the albums introduced to me at that time of my life. Her boyfriend played a 12 string and he rode a Ducati.

I had no idea what or who the artists of the album were, let alone a Ducati

I sing along to the amazing songs like Natural Woman by Aretha Franklin and Tracks Of My Tears by Smokey Robinson and everyone looks at me like huh? How do you know those songs? You’re too young to know them by heart?

And my beautiful sister rests up in heaven and I’m reminded every day of the blessing she placed upon me by introducing me to that music. The Big Chill. ❤️

I think for me it would have to be Evanescense's Fallen. A tremendous album in its own right, but thanks to Pandora, it served as the jump-off point into the genre of symphonic metal. I've been in love with it ever since.

I think one of the things that predominantly sticks out for me is how classic the songs actually are, and how I listen to the music now and it’s not so good comparitively.

Any of the Simon & Garfunkel albums, or any of the three by Richard & Mimi Farina. I found the Farinas as a box set, so I think of them as one long album.

a great soundtrack and a excellent movie!

There are so many. My goto when someone asks what my favorite record is is "A Love Supreme" by John Coltrane. Never have I heard a group of musicians so connected to each other, the music, and their emotions in the same way.

It has to be Hounds of Love by Kate Bush. Blew me away in 1985 and it still does now.

I jumped on that on Spotify and the first song is Running Up That Hill. Fuck’s sake.

I wonder if you win and we should just get Laurelle to close the thread now because as far as I’m concerned if that’s the first song we’re all fucked

Next album is probably No Need To Argue.

Might be strange coming from an Antipodean, but mate. I Can’t Be With You, Empty, and Dreaming My Dreams…. My god. I played those songs more times than I played with myself. I worshipped the Crans down here. In saying that, I loved The Book by Sheryl Crow. 100% gay

I had some harder rock in my early collection: NIN, Tin Machine, Nirvana, etc. But I haven't played any of those in years. In middle age I mostly prefer mellow folk music and occasionally some PJ Harvey.
