What makes for a good thread?

This is my 100th post. I want it to be productive.

I've seen threads on here that get just a dozen or so hits and no replies that quickly fade out of sight. I've also seen threads that get thousands of views and responses, and stay on the front page forever.

What do you look for to seperate the duds from the hits?

For me, it's an interesting exchange of ideas that doesn't desolve into hostility. I'm not politically inclined, but many others here are. You just won't see me on those threads.

I tried to submit two avatars, but they were both regected. I like Marxist's new avatar quite a bit. I'm still learning to crawl with a computer and have very limited know how for doing quite a few things. I'll pass on the offer for now to join any groups here for the minute.

What makes for a good thread? The delightful possibility of intelligently postulated suppositions to riding up close and personal with down and dirty fucking. The kinkier the better, too, although that might be my own little prejudice.
