For me, there needs to be a lot more than just bondage going on. Someone needs to take advantage of the tied up person. Bondage for bondage's sake makes little sense to me, but then I'm not a bondage fetishist.

OK, if it's gonna be pure bondage, I like the kind that gets painful after about ten minutes and the person is left alone for hours with it. Embarassing bondage, something that ties a person into a ridiculous or humiliating position, is also very nice.

Setting the Stage

A good scene should be planned out by the Top to include a sense of drama, anticipation, uncertainty, and to include something new - either something completley foreign and new to the sub, or something that gives a previous experience a good new twist or aspect to it.

I like to plan out a session with specific scenes or acts, like in a play, that alternate the intensity and the drama and the pacing. Something with a specific beginning, middle and end, and something that delivers a specific lesson or experience for the sub.

The specifics of the tools and the techniques are secondary to the theme and the atmosphere, I think.

mhhhhh - bondage scenes....

One thing I find essential : time!

I like to play - experiment - design with rope. So it may take a while till my plaything is all wrapped up in the fashion I like (opposed to : just knot a piece of fabric around limbs to imobilize)

Bondage scene ...

Black rope - white rope - red rope - a teasing knot that rubbs just the right spot when squirming and wiggling... decision as to how I want the squirming to be... bondage positions to expose vulnerable and tantalizing bits of the body, open to my scrutiny and actions? Or more a "mumification" so that the burning desire is impossible to quench because out of easy reach, thus making it even more the focus of the submissive's desire?

The submissive more left to feel inside as there is not much stimulation from outside - helplessness, nowhere to go, left to ponder about his/her surrender ... but knowing that my hands, my eyes are appreciating the creation s/he is part of.

This is what my mind paints when thinking bondage scene (and you may notice there are no potty-breaks! so if ever someone should get into one of those lengthy occassions with me make sure you took care of that BEFORE I have gone through meters of rope and hours of artsy knotting )

No *lol* "just go" definitely is not likely - simply for the fact that "going" is not an option when neatly tied up.

So fortunately I am not into water sports at all, and with a bit (or a rather BIG bit ) of begging and entertaining me by crawling, hopping, rolling, wiggling and squirming (or whatever other limited option of movement is available at that stage) to the loo under the incentive of a crop and threats to not dare causing any major "mishaps" on the way, I might tolerate such "nature call" intrusions.

If though I have to really undo knots and ropes and such, I likely loose the "mood" of the scene and knowing I will be disapoitnted and feel "cheated" sure limits those cases to a very very minimum ... none of my subs would want to see me being disappointed and deprived of my fun and pleasure for their fault, and definitely not twice.

It's an outline for a good bondage scene. Not a formula for all. The appeal of bondage is not knowing what is coming next. If a sub is very orgasmic, sometimes it's fun to flip that switch a few times before she gets the Cock. Sometimes not.
