When I first started at this hospital they’d play a lullaby over the intercom when a baby was born and then it suddenly stopped.

This afternoon there was a lullaby! I didn’t realize how happy that little announcement made me

Karen’s office is across from mine. Her husband had a serious cardiac issue. Because of that, she’s been gone for the past 6 weeks. She came back today.

She could see how sincere my reaction was to seeing her again. It makes me smile, even now, thinking about her reaction to mine.
