A 3 1/2 hour phone call with my mother during which not only did she sound better than she has healthwise for ages (though still not going to get well), but her finally getting it about not doing things she knows she can't and shouldn't do anymore...and being able to give her some reassurance and moral support that I more than get why she does not want to go into a nursing home despite being so ill, and will not take part in trying to manipulate her into agreeing...quite the opposite.
