What Lit is all about

After reading some of the posts today I realized the importance of Lit. I found this poem that may express how a lot of us feel. It's not mine but it has a lot of meaning.

In Times Of

My soul drifts aimlessly in times of hopelessness.
It searches tirelessly for meaning and truth ...
Yet finds no direction.

My heart bleeds quietly in times of loneliness.
It yearns to find warmth and happiness ...
Yet it somehow eludes me.

My eyes seek out visions in times of want.
They gaze endlessly through the blackness that envelops them ...
Yet they cannot see the light.

My ears listen earnestly in times of silence.
They search for familiar sounds to comfort and console ...
Yet they cannot penetrate the darkness that surrounds me.

My arms reach out frantically in times of despair.
They seek strength and compassion to enfold me ...
Yet they find nothing substantial to enwrap.

My mind cries out desperately in times of solitude.
It poses intense questions that demand answers ...
Yet there are none to be found.

My hand reaches out earnestly in these times of confusion.
It dials the number of a familiar and calming voice ...
And gratefully, my lifeline to sanity ... remains intact.

I hope we aren't that depressing...

all the time here.

It does seem at times we play off of each others emotions, whether they be sad, happy, flirtatious, etc.

The board reflects that in the tone of the threads and posts.

Not necessarily a bad thing.....but I wish at times it would be better

I always thought . . .

I always thought that Lit. was a very cool place to meet people, make new friends, enjoy sharing thoughts and in general a very nice place to be.
But just the other night an individual decides to start( at what first seems to be an innocent thread) a thread that is actually meant to hurt someone who has done that thread starter absolutely NO harm.
What she tried to do was cause pain and sorrow but in reality she showed what a venal person she really is. It is sad to think that someone would take great pleasure in causing emotional pain to someone that never did them harm.
Do I still think that Lit. is a cool place? For the most part yes, but when one purposely starts a thread to cause someone pain, then the specialness of Lit. loses a tad bit of its charm. The thread starter, herself, really shows herself to be an ass that needs to be avoided. I will be the first one to avoid her threads.

For a community to be a heathy place it needs to be able to express itself in times of good or bad.....
