I save the blues/jazz stuff for those rare times when I'm feeling sweet and romantic. It's more cuddle music than fuck music.

R&B turned down real low is nice for it, just enough to barely hear but not enough to drown out all the other sounds.

In the classical world, there's Ravel, Debussy, Saint Saens, and Shosakovich (not romantic, but definitely intense).
