do you have?

Lottery winner finally comes forward

This man has got to be one of the luckiest people I've heard of. Not to mention one of the dumbest! I am having difficulty with the series of events in this story - I still haven't figured out:

- why he never checked his ticket the day of (or after) the particular drawing a year ago.
- why did he save these tickets and stuff them in a drawer this whole time?
- what in blue blazes was he thinking by mailing the ticket to the lottery commission? And why didn't he send it certified? Hey, even his wife says she thought he was crazy when he told her what he'd done! I can't believe he didn't hold tight to it and take it there in person.

Obviously, he has the last laugh now ($1.7 mill/year for next 20 years) but still, what a chance to take! Nerves of steel. Brains of mush! :D

What kind of luck do you have? Ever won anything? I admit I fare much better at games of skill rather than games of chance.

I lost a quarter once, I think thats mine Nitelight:p

I actually have no luck at all when it comes to winning things. I once won a free coke from McDonalds, but lost the coupon before I could use it. Two out of three win a free Mtdew and myself and two friends buy one, and guess who doesn't get the free drink?
I think some people are just holding their butt right:D

i found 3 dollars once... i offered to give it to lost and found (damn that honesty sometimes)... but the store said i could just keep it

how about bad luck....

*is ashamed to admit this*

one day I picked all the winning numbers for a 70 Million jackpot.... and I decided they were just too bogus and didn't use em :(

Just shoot me

You ladies have some funny stories! I'm glad these things happen to other people besides me! Yes, there is a famous saying..if it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all.

I don't have much of it. I never find a parking place close to the building; I never find money but that it hasn't fallen out of my purse to begin with! I never choose the right line at the grocery store. Things just never 'fall into place' for me like they do for some people. But you know what? That's ok. It feels better knowing I've worked hard to accomplish something and achieved my goal - as opposed to waiting for some divine intervention or other worldly assistance.

Just as Santa Claus stopped visiting my house, Lady Luck seems to have misplaced my address as well! However, I wouldn't mind a bit of help from the Lotto God next time around. ;)

I found an nickle once...

but it was a plug nickle.

EZ

Ezzy, dear

I hate to sound like a gold-digger, but Nitelight did find a quarter. And, well, at least he can buy me a spin on the slot machine.

All you can do is get us thrown out of the casino! ;)

lucky? well, maybe. lucky about money... hard to prove!

I did win two fifths of wiskey...when i was eleven at a door drawing at the VFW.

I did win one hundred dollars from a raido station one time.

My best run of luck was when i hit five numbers out of six twice in six months in the texas lotto in 1995. I also hit four numbers three times and three numbers five times. I must have used up all of my luck because i have not matched over two numbers in the last six years.

Oh, the first time i hit five numbers i forgot to put my wife's birth day down as one of the numbers. The number seventeen. what the hell it only cost me twenty eight million. She will let me forget it someday. Maybe.

what kind of luck

have i had?

you know the saying "if it weren't for bad luck i'd have no luck at all"...well, i have had more than my share of it steadily handed to me for the past few years and i am sick of it.

i deserve a turnaround and i hope i get it soon.

I once went on a company sponsered Vegas Vacation when I was in my early twenties and was incredibly broke. I only had $100 to spend since everything else was paid for. I allotted $20 a night for spending money and won $800 on the slots. It was fucking great!!!

I once won a pair of purple Donkey Kong shoelaces in my box of breakfast cereal. Now I wonder where I put them...

I don't know what is going on in your life, but at least you have the relationship thing on the right track. I'd trade the money success for relationship success any time. I'm an optimist. I hope everything turns around. You are so nice, you really deserve it.

and Mischka, you got your horsey back! Where have you been? How was San Fran?
Yup, I'm back to my old orange self. :D

I've been swamped of late. Mr. Mischka and I are contemplating buying our first condo/townhouse, plus I've been working all daylight hours at my summer internship.

San Fran was fabulous. Stayed at a beautiful hotel, walked countless miles in the perfect weather, ate tons of fresh seafood and sourdough bread, relaxed on the Bay Cruise, and bought some original art pieces in Saucelito. I think we successfully managed to squeeze every minute out of our weekend there.

Many Thanks Ladies

believe me ladies, your responses are greatly appreciated.

thankyou Barb D., Morninggirl5, and Unusallyconfused.

sometimes, those questions just seem to strike a nerve and i just tell it like it is. again, thankyou all.

I have won awards, but those you work for. Luck has nothing to do with it.

I am going to be competing in a new kind of awards contest this fall........

Oooooh I am getting excited. :)
