What is your life about?

I've started to see the "holiday blues" floating around the boards, and I thought a release thread might be in order.

Last February I lost it all. I ended up in a shelter, and began to wonder what I was looking foward to. What was going to change my life, or what "life" I thought was supposed to be. I had to find purpose and reason for continuance and progress.

But there is no reason. There is no answer. I've only come to the illation that I have to... just because. Because I know better. I, like the rest of you all, aren't quitters. I humped my ass off, and became a man again. I got back on my feet, got another house, another job, another smile, another soul.

Why do you all do it?

Cause if you don't work to eat you don't shit and if you don't shit you die... ;)

For all three of my beautiful children...even the one who's not with me.

The belief that I am destined for something. I don't know what it is yet. But without it, I would have given up years ago.

Shit, as it stands now I'm close to giving up anyway.

My son. Then myself. I have too much to give, too much I want to still be, and I love life. I keep going....
Life can be a real bitch. However, the challenges make me stronger, more determined.

Wonderfull...

I love chocolates, and childeren, and shitting, and of course Bush. ;)

And i'm glad you know how chicken-shit suicide is, SM...

Another short list....

My rigid framed 1953 Panhead Harley, ride to live, live to ride!

The gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, the stars, moon, warm days, cold nights, snow, rain, Bar-BQs, parties, good friends, family, redheads, the ocean, rivers, creeks, mountains, earthquakes, volcanoes, music, singing, going places, chocolate, milkshakes, burgers, waffles, syrup, animals, campouts, laughter, females, shooting stars, insane middle east dictators, funny leaders, right/left wing people, the sound of a Harley, the sound of a cop car, the television, and the quiet in between!

*My short list! :D

I can't speak for anyone else of course, but having reached mid-life (provided I hang around till I'm 92), I realize just how fast it all goes by, how little time we actually have here. Some days might seem endless. Some days you're lucky if you remember what a smile is, much less have one or get one. But each happy moment dispells a million unhappy ones, and I'm not going to miss a single chance at happiness in whatever time I have. They're too few, too precious, and life is too short.

jaymes - one thing that keeps me going is finding dear friends like you after a year of being away and seeing you return with a new soul - welcome back sweetie ~

i like it when my friends are jealous of what i'm doing.

No need to be doing anything famous or glorious... just the sheer fact we're still living & breathing can be a pretty darn good thing to go on!:D

My son.

Everything that I do, the decisions I make, are all for him.

I try to be a better person for him and I do my damnedest to give to him everything that he needs.

That is what keeps me going.

actually an interesting idea for a thread~i've been wrestling with the question myself...

Not to press the subject...

I'm just too gutless to exit.

You know, many people, given the opportunity, have given ther lives for a noble cause. In an instant, you could decide that your life is not as important as someone or something else.

Not to allow you to jump off the cliff ahead of myself, nor quote some shitty line from a fantastic movie, but never say never. If your gonna go, go balls to the wall partner.

Nya meen?
