What isw your favourite movie...

ok, this is going to be cheesy and stupid. anybody seen that movie waxworks? well, i saw it when i was VERY young, like seven. well, in it, there's this scene where a girl's wrists are shackled to the ceiling and she's whipped from behind. when her friends come to free her, she falls at the dom's feet begging "please don't let them take me from you!"

i watched this scene again later on in life, and the whipping is so obviously fake, but it was very convincing at seven.

so that's my vote for fav - my seven year old perception of that scene in waxworks.

I saw that movie, too. I agree with you that it all seems very fake. After all, he was using a bull whip. But, the girl is a very pretty girl next door type, and she is in a trance where she wants to be whipped. I love the idea of the scene, if it is lost on the acting. The two girls who shackle her wrists have very interesting expressions on their faces, too.

That Dom was suppose to be de Sade, himself, wasn't it? Of course, not the best representatiion.

I haven't seen many movies that involve whipping, but maybe this thread will give me some to think about.

Don't know what the film was...

but there was a scene where a man was dressed in a miniskirt and high heels, doing housework and an older woman complained he had not ironed properly.

He apologised, but the woman whipped him for not addressing her as 'Mistress'.

Quills... I think. Or was it that Cinderella story with Drew barrymore? Either way, one of them had a whipping scene... i remember kate winslet... so I guess it was Quills... The crossy, blood welty marks looked real and she was whimpering and red eyed and it was in the time period of water girls and maids and I love the dresses and the pain and the corsets and dresses and everything about it,. It wasn't sexy but it was intense and I enjoyed it... not because I particularly hate either actress but it was a good scene. I respected it.

Story of O

Especially the scene where she is whipped in rythm to classical music. The details are hazy, but the memory is strong.

i think there was whipping in ever after... after drew's character flips out about her mom's stuff and her dad's book and stuff... i think...

i think iremember a scene in glory.... i just remember some army guy of old being whipped to show what disobediance costs....
