I picked none of the above. In general I have not noticed that woman athelets appear any less feminine than a cross section of the female population. In fact they tend to be more attractive on a whole, since being physically fit seems to add a kind of glow to a person that is in and of itself attractive.

Morning Og:

I have been involved in athletics for years and years, including junior olympic competitions around the world as a coach. I have coached both high school all star teams of young ladies and young men.

The stereotype of bull dyke female athletes does not necessarily fit the norm. With the increase in Title IX programs across the US, lady athletics has grown substantially.

To find attractive, physically fit female athletes is expected.

So I was not surprised, and voted accordingly.

Nothing finer than a toned, female athlete!!

I voted "might". Because it's true. They might be, or they might be not, just like the rest of both man- and womankind. I know one elite hockey playing woman. She is probably the second most attractive woman I have ever met. (I don't really rank'em.)

Hey, I am a big sports person and enjoy all sports...women's men's! I have seen so many attractive women playing sports. I think what is important is not to strereo type. Who would have ever thought year's ago...when the story of Zena came out..that she would be sooooo attractive!
I wonder - and hope to hear....female athletes are attractive and sure of themselves...if the woman plays a tough sport it doesn't mean she is "butch" - so, women play on!

Having seen the then England Hockey team - I fell in love with them.

Apart from being fit and healthy, they had a wicked sense of humour and were great friends.

I posted this thread because of a comment on the Cars thread.

At school, I played hockey for a couple of terms. My only distinction was to score from 20 yards - a direct hit on the referee's balls. He had to be substituted.

My first crush on a girl was on our goalie from the hockey team. Not the girls' hockey team. The hockey team. She was GORGEOUS (not kidding--this brunette nymph with sparkling brown eyes and a gorgeous figure). She also played trombone--go figure. I guess she needed something to balance out her sexiness so she wouldn't accidentally asphyxiate people whose breath was taken away by her loveliness. And here at college, half of our women's hockey team are lesbians, and they're all cute. So my picture of a female hockey player is 100% favourable.

Female athletes are, IMHO, more likely to be attractive precisely because they are in shape. Oh, and the muscle tone, stamina, etc. definitely translates to horizontal sports.

I had a girl-friend in my student days who was an avid (land) hockey player. It never ceased to amaze me that a demure and meek young lady could be transformed into a blood-thirsty banshee, just by picking up a hockey stick.

We have roller hockey and field hockey locally. The women's teams in both are well worth watching - for their skill at the game of course - and wear short skirts.

For roller hockey they wear padding. For field hockey they wear sports bras under their shirts and shin pads. Doesn't leave much to the imagination when they are attacking at full speed.

My idea of a Ladies' Hockey Player is possibly a bit jaded. I've known two and both were absolutely gorgeous. Insane muscle tone, gorgeous skin, hair and eyes and a no nonsense attitude. Both were near perfect in my eyes. I'd have taken either one of them, but as my luck goes...they were already together.

Whoops. I thought you meant ice hockey too.....never played land hockey. *restrains an ick* You probably wouldn't have liked all the padding we wore... but it was a co-ed team, so shower time was interesting.
