Bonus points if you hate the color, but dig the name.

Chartreuse and periwinkle are all fun to say, but I wouldn't paint anything those colors.

Are you burnt over umber?

Crimson about vermillion?

Are you prancing about panties again?

Stop. :p Every thread? C'mon now. There's got to be more to post about.

I'm a particular fan of scarlet.

I think the name azure is funny.

And I don't like the color name of mauve or taupe at all.

Both mauve and taupe sound like you're mispronouncing them. We Americans probably are. That was a whole thread recently.

I don't like the word bucolic either. I think it sounds nothing like its definition.

I know it's off the color topic, but I'm not too worried about being on topic right now.

No thread topic on the GB survives first contact with the GB. On-topic posts are whimsey.

Verdigris is outstanding!

I have no idea what that color is but I'm definitely working it into conversation sometime.

If you think those are good, you should turn over some nail polish bottles sometime! 😁

Personally I am a fan of "I'm not really a waitress red"

That's oddly very similar to fuzzy wuzzy.

Odd name for someone who (as I understand it) wasn't very fuzzy, was he?

Wild Blueberry Bash

That name brings back one of those olefactory memories. I can smell the caramelization of the sugar crystals on top of the blueberry muffins.

When I was young I painted my friends 1970 Volkswagen squareback. We stripped it all the way down to bare metal and rather than painting at the original probably sealing wax red he went through dozens and dozens of pages of paint chip samples at Space age, our automotive paint store. If I were him I would have just gone for Porsche guards red but he pick something that wasn't too far from that.

The girl behind the counter said oh that would make a great shade of lipstick!

Fuzzy Wuzzy, while cute, just lacks the appropriate trampiness (I am declaring that a word) for a truly great red.

Naturally. It's why women are the driving force behind car purchase decisions. It's ALL about the colour.

I have no problem with trampiness as a word. :D And I agree, fuzzy wuzzy is too cutesy wootsy for a vivid red.
