1967 corvette

it was my first cool car encounter, i must have been 8 or so and the owner was a neighbor; and this was back in spain, so it was kind of really unusual to find a classic american muscle car just cruisin' about.

Blew a lot of Boss 302 doors off with my DZ302 Z-28.:D
I'm sure you did. The early Z-28's were awesome cars.

I only had a 302 GT. I knew better than to go against the Z-28s. However, I could beat the Camaro 350 SS's. A man has to know his limitations. Could also stay even with the short block Corvettes till about 100. Then they just left me.

1970 Plymouth Roadrunner: 426 Hemi, 4 speed, 4:11 rear - a stylish yet unassuming car, until it passes you doing 120+.

Option for the 1967 GTX, the 426 “Street HEMI,” produced 425hp at 5000rpm and 490 ft-lb of torque at 4000rpm and was offered for a premium of $546 over the base cost of $3,178. Previously, the 426 HEMI was – in theory – optional across the line, and many 1966 buyers went for the HEMI in stripped-down bodies. To get the same engine in 1967, the buyer had to pay extra for the GTX trim.

Always liked the way these looked. Would have liked one with a 383 or a Hemi.

Probably put out closer to 500hp.

Which all depended on who set it up, and how.

Everyone feared the Hemi, but it was the lowly 383 out there getting beat on routinely . . . and faring pretty well for itself. I'm having a ball with mine as I collect parts for its replacement.
