What is up with...?

Hey I am really new here, got my first approved story and I am noticing that there seems to be a LOT of people who are talking crap in response to (not just mine, but others as well) stories. Is this normal or am I just completely missing something?

To me it seems like some of these "kids" (for lack of a better term) are just blowing whatever they can think of out of their rectal orifices. However as I am new I just want to be sure that this is or is not the case...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As BB says, some cats draw more flak than others; Loving Wives and Romance being the worst. They also have the largest and most devoted readership. Hence the often harsh criticisim if a story does not meet their standards.

Hi, Doc, and welcome to the AH. That is a perfectly reasonable question, and this is the place to raise it.

As others have said, some catagories catch more flak than others, Loving Wives probably being #1 there. Gay Male and Lesbian catch some too, and so do Anal and Incest and Non Consent/Reluctant, but none as much as L/W. I recently posted a story in that category about a woman cheating on her husband because she wantd her pussy eaten and to get anal sex. I just did it to see how much flak I would catch, and there has been a lot.

If you can't stand caustic criticism, write in Romance or Novels and Novellas. Therer isn't much readership, but what there is tends to be quite nice.

What on Earth do you mean by that, TE? Romance has a dedicated readership, but small, and Anal and Incest have the largest. Neither of those groups is very dedicated, and both are quite critical.

The nicest comments I receive are in the Romance and Sci-Fi cats.

LW I get the worst comments, not critique, nasty, hateful comments about my character and such. They all hope I die for writing such trash. Seems they don't like cheating wives. I also get some really nice comments there. There are two camps in LW...those that hate cheating wives that get away with it and those who do. *shrugs*

Erotic Couplings I got some nice comments too.

I've never posted in LW and don't plan to since I've heard what goes on there.

I have one story in LW in which the wife and husband teamed up together to defeat a bunch of baddies who were trying to get wives to cheat. I got a lot of positive comments and a few from some oddballs who wanted the hero to be cuckolded. Go figure.

I've gotten nice comments in NonHuman, Romance, NonConsent (but then, it was an odd story), and Chain. But I've been here a while and now have a bunch of people who have developed a taste for my peculiarities. The first few I wrote drew some really harsh denunciations from people who, I guess, haven't got anything better to do than be ugly to others. We call them trolls. Ignore them completely and they will go away. Get into a pissing contest with such skunks and you will lose. Just write what you like best and don't let the bastards grind you down. Non carborundum illigetimi or something.

There is a third camp or group. Some persons just read the story, realize it is fiction, and make a comment on the quality of the writing. Of course, that's what most people do for any category.
