Is there a song that best describes who you are.......Hearing the words you could say hay that song was made about me, what is it.....
I will go first the song that best describes me is "Bitch" my Meredith Brooks.:p

Well, in my current situation I'd have to say "No Sex" by Limp Bizkit

"Went too fast
Way too soon
I feel disgusted
And you should too"

But on a normal day when I'm not feeling sorry for myself, it'd be "Everyday I A Winding Road" by Sheryl Crow

"Everyday is a winding road
I get a little bit closer
Everyday is a faded sign
I get a little bit closer
To feeling fine"

Ezzie http://smilecwm.tripod.com/fk/witch.gif

"She can't remember a time when she felt needed
If love was red then she was color-blind
All her friends were on trial for treason
And crimes that were never defined..
She's saying, 'Love's like a barren place
And reaching out for human faith is..
It's like a journey I just don't have a map for, so
I'm maybe gonna take a dive
Pull shift to overdrive..'
It's always hidden that she's hanging all her hopes on the stars.."
-Savage Garden, "Fly me to the moon and back"

"It may not be the way I would have chosen
Going through a world that's not my home
But you never said it would be easy
You only said I'd never go alone..
So when the whole world turns against me,
And I'm all by myself
And I can't hear you answer my cries for help
I'll remember the suffering your love put you through
And I'll go through the valley..
If you want me to."
-Ginny Owens, "If you want me to"

Well I would be the same as you lethal I'm a definate bitch! I think the song was written after me.

Sure, just go back and read all 3833 (and counting) threads..

Seriously, there is a search function here. That can help you see what has been posted before and maybe give ideas on how to make your threads more unique (Not to be mean, but every thread you've started in the last 2 days has been done more than once before...). And if you really wanna know how to start interesting and unique threads, go back and find the ones LL has started. Then you'll see how it's done...

BTW, CreamyLady, I think it's proper Lit etiquette that, when you bash someone for starting a thread that's been done to death, you should always provide a link to one of the previous threads on the same subject....

But how do you do that? And how do you quote something from another thread?

There is a song called "Never Surrender" and I can't remember who wrote it but it is from the 80's somewhere and two people have said it reminds them of me...

Some of the words are...

"And when the night is cold and dark
You can see, you can see light
No one can take away your right to fight and
To never surrender
Never surrender

Oh, Time is all, you're asking for
Just stand your ground never surrender."

Not sure what that is supposed to mean I mean to them but ya asked!
:)

Sunglasses at night, cough gag ack

Well, I can't say who wrote it, Jade, but Corey Hart sang it.

Yet more useless trivia knowledge!

Uh oh.. did I hit a sore spot.. do you dislike the guy?
Woopsie?....

Still, for those of us who didn't catch the thread the first time around...

...and I must be an acrobat
To talk like this
And act like that
And you can dream
So dream out loud
And you can find
Your own way out
You can build
And I can will
And you can call
I can't wait until
You can stash
And you can seize
In dreams begin
Responsibilities
And I can love
And I can love
And I know that the tide is turning 'round
So don't let the bastards grind you down

Pet the doggies for me!

No, not at all. I was just embarrassed to be able to answer that. What's next: Alex, I'll take obscure '80's music for $500.

Couuuuuld be!

Oh, and that song does describe you very well, me thinks.

Hmmmmm?

"Some of them want to use you, some of them want to be used by you...some of them want to abuse you, some of them want to be abused" -Eurthymics.

"I've always had to run, I don't know just why...desire slowly smoking under the midwest sky. There's something waiting out there that says I've got to try. I've been talking to my angel, and he says that it's alright"
-Melissa Etheridge

"You body is alive, but no one told you what you'd feel. The empty aching hours, trying to conceal. The natural progression is the coming of your age, but they cover it with shame and turn it into rage" -Melissa Etheridge

Well, I'll stop here. I could write a "novel"'s length of text just on songs that FIT MY LIFE. I suppose that is both :) and :( Anyway, peace out.

Payne

I just pet my furry babies for you (even the cat haha)...

And you think it describes me eh? Ahhh (((Payne)))

Anyway, .. .what I really want to say is.. PAYNE is MY HERO!
Anyone who knows 80's music.. oh... a lifelong sex-god you are now proclaimed to be....
(sigh)

Goddess, but uhm, thank you! heehee

Gee, all in one day I'm a hero, a sex goddess for life and the Messianic spawn of the Lit Bull God (thank you Expertise, couldn't have wigged out without you!), woohoo!

*adjusts inflated ego and struts off*

Who song the old 80's song Sunglasses at night?
Mr. Mister (i am only 19 how am i supposed to know this)
Well let me tell you I MEMORIZE the silly songs that are on all those onfomercials, don't ask, it is something to do.

My song would have to be:

Puff the magic dragon,
lived by the sea.
And frolicked in the autumess (i think)
in a land called Hanna Lee.

Ok, ummmm maybe not, well how about:

Bond, James Bo...
No, that isn't a song.

When I woke up, the rain was pouring down,
There were people standing all around.
something warm was going in my eyes,
but somehow i found my baby that night.
As I held her close
She looked at me and said
Hold me darling just a little while,
I held her close, I kissed her our last kiss,
I found the love that I knew I would miss,
And now she's gone even though I hold her tight,
I lost my love my light, that night

Oh where oh where can my baby be?
The lord took her away from me,
She's gone to heaven so I got to be good,
So I can see my baby when I leave this world.

I don't know who originally sang it, but Red Hot Chili Peppers did an ok remix of it. Still, if you get the chance hear thoe original, it's kick ass.
Gary

Pooh,

Corey Hart sang (I wear my) Sunglasses at Night, thus the reference.

Eddie Veder of Pearl Jam did the remix of the song you're talking about, and even I am too young to remember who sang the original, but by morning someone will supply the answer, I'm sure.

The '70's and '80's are burned into my being, rather than memorized, and so I try to avoid muzak infomericials and stick to digital satellite stereo.

But you get this nice lifetime supply of Rice-a-Roni for playing along at home!

;)

shotgun - moist

shotgun blast spreads like dawning
rip me open, feel it coming
bowing down to my addiction
never mean to go so willing
thought i'd found something better
terminally hope is crashing
laughing and crashing,
it's laughing, i'm crashing

and how long
is this going to take us going on
is this going go take us
how long
is this going to take us going on

thought i'd found left your language
found a place in my opinion
galvanized the oversight
by pissing on your whole philosophy
mine is just the easy target
mine is just the carnal weakness
looking for something, and something been wishing

and how long
is this going to take us going on
is this going go take us
how long
is this going to take us going on
is this going to take us long
is this going to take us long

____________________________________________

this song just opens up a little window to my soul, and peeks in. man...

others are A Question of Faith (Sandbox), February Stars (Foo Fighters), and 3 Libras (A Perfect Circle)...

As kind of an in joke, "The Mayor of Simpleton" by XTC due to its sentiment that education ain't everything.

Another song that hits how I go through life, "These Foolish Things" sung by a bunch of different folks over the years although I like Bryan Ferry's version best.

My heart has wings
These Foolish Things
Remind me of you

Mine would be this...

Waiting by the shoreline
In Somalia for your reply
I need you to come see me thats no lie

The guns are getting closer
The sweat pours like the dew
That fell from the trees in Tripoli in the spring...

*CHORUS*
I'm white hot
I can't take it anymore
I'm white hot by the Somalian shore
Yes i'm burning to the core
I need rain

Cast out from the jungle
With no rations or canteen
For selling faulty rifles
To the theives in Tanzania

Adventures and misfortunes
Nothing wagered, nothing gained
I have wandered through the desert
Found the ocean, not the rain

I can remember the nights by the strand in Tripoli
We were so much cooler then
I had you and my poetry to protect me
We were so much younger then

*Chorus*

I can remember the nights by the sea in Tripoli
We were so much colder then
I had you and my poetry to protect me
We were both soldiers then
Bolder then, colder then
I need rain, I need rain, I need rain
White Hot, White Hot

White Hot by Tom Cochrane and Red Rider

This song describes me and soothes me.
