What is the most erotic non-X rated film you've seen?

Ok, here goes. I was thinking (always dangerous), why not a thread on the most erotic non-X rated films? There are some from the 40's that dripped sexual tension. (I am especially fond of Barbara Stanwyck in noir films like Lady of Burlesque from Gypsy Rose Lee's G-String Murders).

And of course there's From Here to Eternity.

There are the standard answers like 9 1/2 Weeks and the Zalman King films like Wild Orchid

Which film got you all hot and sweaty?

Funny almost Ironic really
I can't think of one film that is both erotic and X-rated
lol

I found Claire of the Moon and Desert Hearts arousing

I may have missed someone else mentioning these two movies, but IMHO they rate a second mention.

Casablance and To Have and To Have Not.

How about The Graduate?

Bravo, Destinie

Two of my favorite Susan Sarandon flicks...

The Hunger

White Palace...I heard it took three days to film that scene!

I loved Sarandon in "Pretty Baby" and gasped aloud when I saw the most beautiful breasts ever on a big screen.

Perdita

p.s. Also in "Atlantic City".

Nah. The sub-text wasn't sub enough, in fact it was laid on with a trowel over the super-text.

I love Sharon Stone but she was too 'Sharon Stone' in the film, no subtlety, which is requisite for me in erotica. Plus Douglas Jr. is a wimp to me.

tough critic, Perdita

Every scene that's mentioned is a winner. But as one of the old farts around here, please let me add a scene from a 1974 movie that is still vivid in my mind.

The movie was "Lenny" starring Dustin Hoffman as Lenny Bruce and Valarie Perrine as his stripper wife, Honey. The scene involves Hoffman opening a door and walking into a dimly lighted room where he's stunned to see Valarie Perrine bathed in a soft light. She looks like a Vargas painting, nude, stretched out in an erotic, "come hither," pose, and giving him an inviting smile.

Best I can remember, he grins and says something about a "shiksa treat" and then closes the door on the camera, damn it.

Perdita, dear, you've mixed movies. Dougie is in both, though, so it's understandable.

Basic Instinct Douglas and Stone
Fatal Attraction Douglas and Close (ms evil woman herself)

Rumply, I am *not* an old fart but I recall seeing the film when it came out, and that scene. Perrine was exquisitely slutty. Good one.

Ha ha. I thought both were dopey. Glenn Close's character was a joke. Poor bunny though. ;)

Perdita, from prim and proper to such a succulent image. I think I like this one better.

Just went to see Dirty Pretty Things with Audry Tautou (from Amélie), Chiwetel Ejiofor (from Amistad) and Sophie Okonedo (from The Jackal). Well worth seeing - good writing and good acting. I don't think the sex related scenes are all that erotic (but definitely satisfying).

And there is a great line:
"Gou Yi: Good at chess usually means you suck at life. Can't you see she's in love with you? I've been with her 20 minutes and I can see that. Of course I suck at chess."

Well, geez, Eff, *you* gave me the prim and proper Perdita. This one is Veneziana.

Thanks for the tip. I was one of the three people who did not ooh and ahh at 'Amelie', saccharine and too-too clever and filmish.

Like those lines.

Such a tempting lost little girl.

Sophie Okonedo is someone to keep an eye out for. She plays her role as the whore who cares very nicely. I think she would have fit into the role in Things to do in Denver When You're Dead just fine.

Dear young Perdita,

You're so right. But take pity on those of us who age badly and become old farts. Only a lucky few like you and Sophia Loren, ripen with the passing years.

Rumple, aging somewhat less than gracefully, Foreskin

ps: en re VP, I'd forgotten she received an Oscar nomination for that role.

Ah, you reminded me. When I was in my 20s everyone thought I resembled La Loren, at least in my way (had long dark hair then). I so enjoy her in everything she's done, and envy her joy for life and motherhood (plus some of her men).

I liked VP in one of the Superman movies too, as Lex Luthor's slut I believe.

take care old man, Perdita :rose:

You see, that's the difference between you and me. If they were making a movie about your life, Sophia Loren would probably get the lead role. If they were making one about my life, it'd probably go to some William Bendix or Andy Devine look-alike or, if I was lucky, maybe George Kennedy or the late, great Slim Pickens.

Mr. Realistic: I'd choose Kennedy, he was hot, a quiet sexy man is how I saw him.

Thank you, Perditia...

After seeing the commercial previews for Amelie, I had no urge to watch the movie. My first impressions of it were Cute and Sweet.

Not what I have in mind when I'm looking for a good movie to watch in the dark. hehehehe

Personally, I prefer Kiefer Sutherland in The Right Temptation. There are two VERY lusty scenes in there that light my fire just fine.

Hmmm, what other movies have I seen lately that would qualify.. I'd have to check my movie collection for more of them, hehehe Ah well.

Enjoy the night,
BardsLady:rose:

I'd also like to add one of the most erotic films which I've ever seen despite there not being even the slightest hint of sex in it - Interview with the Vampire. I don't know what it is about that film, but it always gets me going.
